...Also according to that listing looks like the tower might be located on S Old Dixie, Right on the Flagler/Volusia line. All frequencies have a 9K70F1E ("P25 Linear Simulcast Modulation “WCQPSK” voice (per Harris MASTR-V literature).") emission.

Google Maps shows Flagler County station 16 just east of I-95 which is a likely place for a county-owned tower on county-owned property, but I don't see anything on Street View there or west of there, for that matter.

It would be a good place for a directional pattern looking northwest to cover a wide swath of the county, which might explain if it doesn't come in too far south.

Station 16 is shared by the VCFS/FCFR. According to the FCC, The tower is located just west of I95 at a park. It's an existing tower for the Flagler P25 System.

What were you using to monitor? Maybe the radio techs are ENC?

WQWG235 has 30 frequencies in total according to the FCC ULS listing. I plugged them all into SDR Trunk and haven't heard a peep in a few days. Also according to that listing looks like the tower might be located on S Old Dixie, Right on the Flagler/Volusia line. All frequencies have a 9K70F1E ("P25 Linear Simulcast Modulation “WCQPSK” voice (per Harris MASTR-V literature).") emission.
Im using a SDS to monitor. But it seems to be when theres a band opening that activity picks up. I dont think its ENC more of just proper monitoring conditions and time on my end because it automatically mutes ENC channels. Because i can go 2 or 3 days with nothing then start receiving items on the flagler or sanford sites

I turned on the SDS100 and hear TG 1403 running a "Radio Service Testing..." loop with a short count. CCH 856.7125, VCH 857.2125 and 858.2125. Site ID 2. I was seeing a timeslot earlier for phase 2, but just seeing a P25 now.

Phase 2 talkgroup(s) can go to phase 1 if a non-phase 2 radio is affiliated to the talkgroup

That would be a great opportunity to listen to any discernable differences in audio between the full-rate and half-rate vocoders. The audio sounded muffled to me, but that could be deliberate.

I hate to be the bearer of bad news but I think they're encrypting the LE talkgroups on the new system.

But they didn’t really say all LE they said some LE was being encrypted. It’s on a local paper website where I saw that info

I'm gonna walk it back and say it's just poor decode on the Sanford site. Unfortunately the Holly Hill site seems down currently and I've never seen any LE talkgroups on it, to date.

I think it's hard-patched more for coverage and quality testing and is more of a beta test site. The thing about Sanford is that it is a "production" site filling in the southwest corner of the county as units affiliate into the site.

As a member of Debary Support 33 we are being told all channels on the new system including fire/EMS will be encrypted. We recently put a new truck in service and are expecting the installation of our new radio mid June. Also there is a new fire station in the pipeline for southwest Debary within the next couple of years and will be dependent on the Sanford tower.

Tonight is the first time I've heard p25. I guess I've heard the p25 patch on my analogs, but it's nice to finally see DG on my 668. :) All the encrypted talk is pretty worrying. My wife almost uses our scanners as a tool for her Hospital management position. Going back to read the entire thread.

a new site (2.2) has been added to the RR dB for this system.
The frequencies in use at Site 2 are licensed at Holly Hill, and are the same frequencies as the Daytona Beach site of the EDACS system. Someone should probably check that EDACS site to see if it's still on the air, or if it's exclusively P25 now.

I would expect the HH P25 site to go up and down for a while. The Daytona site is used for events (all the speedway security talkgroups, etc) and there are more coming up. For example, the Coke or Wawa or whatever they're calling it now happens at the end of August. It's very likely the HH site will be turned off during that time.
