Volusia county EDACS Deland PD radio silent lately?

Well I can't weigh in but given there hasn't been any feedback from the locals the first thing I would check would be the law-tac service type. Is it turned on? You didn't inadvertently avoid them at the channel or department levels did you?

Hi thanks for this. No i don’t think so. I’ve tried to program these 2 as favorites but every time I unplug from my computer they aren’t scanning these for some reason. I’m having a super hard time understanding why it’s not working correctly when I’m following all YouTube tutorials to a T
As the title says: is anyone local to me willing to program my scanner for me? Obviously I would pay you. I’m a newbie having a hell of a time trying to learn how to use and program it and even though I’ve followed several YouTube tutorials and downloaded the sentinel app and learned that as well, I’m not getting the exact same results as I’m supposed to and still have no clue how to navigate to my local PD channels once the scanner is on and scanning. It seems to scan everything but the things in my favorites list. Please help. Thanks
Sounds like you have ID search feature turned on.

Be sure Full Database Scanning is turned off:
Press [MENU] > Set Scan Selection > Select Lists to Monitor > Full Database. Press "E" to turn off if set on
You should also see the favorites list(s) containing your programming listed here & this (these) should be set "On" in order to scan it/them
Next, verify that the law tac service type is turned on as I suggested to you here (you never confirmed it was)

What site are you monitoring?
Do you have all the LCNs programmed correctly?
What TG are you trying to listen to?
Hi, im not sure what an LCN is I’m a total newbie. I am trying to listen to anything Deland. PD, dispatch, fire, ems all of it. The only time I can hear any of it is when I scan but it doesn’t always pick it up. Saved to favorites but then the scanner just scans everything but Deland. Not sure how to use.
LCNs are the system frequencies. All of them must be programmed correctly to hear everything. Control channels rotate often, so make sure you have them all flagged as a Control Channel. Deland operates on the west EDACS System, which would be the ideal site to program. The system is hectic, so a lot of traffic will be missed, and if you are only focused on hearing Deland's communications, Lock everything else out.
The Volusia County Sheriff "central" Communications Center now dispatches all Fire/EMS/PD.
- Deland PD is dispatched on their respective LE Dispatch channel. See the wiki here for more information.
- Deland FD/EMS is dispatched on"Eastside fire dispatch," and depending on the nature of the call, they are assigned an FR TAC channel at dispatch.
- They also use their internal PD talkgroup for operations as well. So be sure to have that programed as well.
- Deland also has many public works related TGs they use, so keep that in mind if you want to listen.
Yes, I’ve turned law tac on and now am able to scan just the deland stuff I’ve added (verified deland PD is in that list) I’ve also set it to priority and yea still not picking it up. Not sure if it’s just not as active or what. I’ve heard it a few times in the past so not sure. I see there are active calls coming in

Na, don't do that. Save yourself the $50-60+ these services cost & save some time. An excerpt from ScannerMaster's programming page:
Programming generally takes one to two weeks as we often have many radios to program at one time and programming can be a very time consuming process.
There are people here on the forums who can assist you with programming for free & a fraction of the time if need be. Sentinel exports can be shared as attachments by following instructions in this posting

Yes, I’ve got that one programmed as well. I’ve heard them talk on the Deland PD 1 channel and the VCSO District 2, Deland PD, Lake Helen PD in the past, but lately nothing after actually programming favorites in. Scans thru all the Volusia County Sheriff stuff and I’ve even programmed fire and EMS in although I don’t seem to hear that either. 🤔 not sure what I’m doing wrong. All the fire, ems and deland PD stations are in my favorites. I’ve turned on Law tac among other things, I’ve set scan selection to my favorites list and turned off full database and somehow I only pick up some jail operations stuff, Orange City Pd and That’s it.
Wrong again. No PD in Volusia has migrated to the P25 System yet. They all remain on EDACS.
Are you monitoring the West System? Is every frequency programmed correctly? How you signal?

in post #2 then?I’m a complete newbie. All I know is that when I scan full database with zip code services in the past I’ve picked up the Deland PD 1 and the VSCO Lake Helen / Deland PD. I live in Deland so I made a favorites list with just Deland and I hear no PD now. Ive tried to attach a screen shot of my favorites list, but keeps saying it’s too big - I believe I have West and East programmed.
On West & East sites do you have them in different quick keys?
I’m not setting quick keys cuz i don’t fully understand how to use them. I’m just letting it scan thru my favorites list containing the west and east and the volusia county sheriffs stuff
Okay I know your a newbie I use to have the 436. I can make a fav list and have all the quick keys and depts. Is that only system you have just the edacs in the Fav List?

Yes EDACS and also some P25 in there
