Drove through Wayne tonight. Set my 436 P25 mode to manual with a setting of 7. This gave me the best results. Traveled from Oakland on Berdan and Alps rd through to Fairfield, and it worked pretty good.

Anyone have update on this? I have now had this same issue reproduced on a Radio Shack Pro-197 as well as a brand new Uniden BCD436HP.

Are we stuck without an answer?

OK, i am getting a handle on setting up my new 996P2.

Question : Wayne PD , I loaded it off RR data base and i don't hear anything ?

What did I do wrong? On the site window is control channel supposed to be checked ? it is not?

Do i need to load a control Freq.?

Thanks

That's a Harris system, so ALL of the frequencies need to be entered. Every frequency in a Harris P25IP system has the ability to be the control.

Scott thanks for the reply,
sorry for being ignorant but I'm kinda new to this. How and where do I enter them.

It's been a while since I programmed an XT scanner, and I know the P2 models program the same. What are you using to program the unit, and are you using auto-import from the database here?

I can help if you are using FreeScan (or are willing to use that app).

There was another thread recently that mentioned Wayne changed some of their frequencies so people were no longer able to hear them. If you do a search you might be able to find it.

if you could tell me that i think i could figure it out.

Auto-import should bring everything you need to hear the system automatically. You should not have to enter anything other than a quick key for the system.

Use ID Scan. Almost all known TG's have already been found.

A known issue with FreeScan. It MUST be P25 standard.

Ok back attempt it again.....reloaded Wayne into my 996P2 . Now I seem to here them once and a wile but it is all groggily and choppy. The NJ state police on the other hand comes in clear. ?

I still cannot get Wayne and I am only 8 miles north of them.

Any ideas.?

Thanks Matt

Other than the fact that they are two totally different types of systems with vastly different coverage patterns, there is nothing more I can do to help you.

I will check the system out the next time I'm working in Riverdale. I'm sorry I don't have any more options for you to try...
