Just got my new Uniden 436 so I am riding the learning curve. I had Westchester County pre-programmed with the scanner but I am not hearing anything from County Police. I tried entering the frequency manually with what I think are the right digital settings but so far nothing. Any hints?

Thanks in advance...

Assuming your Sentinel database is up to date, and you have WCPD F1 in the scanner as 155.310 P25 with a NAC of 154, then you have the latest.

Note that 155.310 is now simulcast from multiple sites using LSM, which is the same modulation used by P25 trunked systems that many scanners struggle with. Normally conventional simulcast isn't much of a problem for scanners to deal with, however those are usually C4FM modulation with P25. LSM is a whole different animal.

Maybe try enabling the attenuator on that frequency and see if that helps.

Noob question: what’s the exact between C4FM and LSM on a P25 conventional system? What’s one provide that the other doesn’t?
