OK I have read about the magical portable antenna enough ,..with testimonials that seem to indicate its like getting a whole new radio ,...however number one .,..upwards of 20 to 30 dollars for a rubber duck antenna seems a little excessive to me & number two ,...shipping on top of that ,..Is there nowhere in Canada that has this antenna for a reasonable price ? that can ship it for less than half of what it costs in the first place ? its just a bloody rubber duck antenna for gods sake ,..apparently a good one ,..bur still , there has got to be some way to get one without approaching the 35-50 dollar price tag once its shipped ...

I’d order one from a us outlet and just have them ship it usps. I haven’t found any in Canada.

GBRIDEN: Which Diamond antenna are you referring to? And which band do you primarily use it for - VHF, UHF, 700/800 ?

Remtronix used to make them for Radio Shack.

The Remtronix REM-800B (shown left) is a very compact flexible antenna providing extremely good reception in the range of 700 to 960 MHz.
It has +6dB minimum gain over a standard antenna.
This 7 inch tall antenna terminates to a male BNC connector.

The new Remtronix REM-800S (shown right) is the same, but terminates to a male SMA connector.
These high quality antennas are made in Japan.
