It's problem when the software has a built-in update for the software and that doesn't work either because of the certificate error.
Whistler did their best to keep this legacy software working automatically for as long as possible and they did come up with a manual workaround that works for the vast majority of people using that software. In a contest of expectations vs reality, reality usually wins.

:( IMHO, a BIG BIG problem. :(

.
So Whistler ensuring that everyone is using the most up to date software is an issue? I would think that a bigger issue would be the complaints when things stop working if they didn't ensure this and people kept using outdated versions. The software is free, I could see having a problem if you had to buy a new version everytime they updated it, but not when they just give it to you.

Actually, I updated the software (thru the ezscan program) 4 months ago and it worked - so you are wrong on that point. I am also running Windows 10 Pro, which is also up to date.

A new update 09-23-2020 so your software was out of date

And you stated above that I was probably using software from 2009-2014, so that makes a certificate error my fault. Sure glad you don't work for customer support....

No, he was not referring to you using software from 2009-2014, he was referring to the fact that Whistler hasn't created anything original since buying GRE's intellectual property and that they are stretching the software beyond its expected lifetime.

And your boss would be correct. I just don't see what that has to do with the question at hand.

This just showed up today. I have restarted my computer and even reinstalled the page, but still get all info in what looks like Japanese.

I thought about it as hard as I can and I'm thinking maybe... Somebody's in putting something in a foreign language. I might be wrong on that. :p

Sorry, just kidding oh, I have no idea. It is what it is.
