What do I select in Win97 if a frequency is listed as for example 155.6767 CSQ. In the Rx column in Win 97 what do I select?

CSQ simply means no PL / CTCSS tone or DCS code was submitted for that frequency. In many cases, none are used. In others, nobody has identified the tone or code, & submitted it.

Sorry, I don't have a scanner that uses WIN97 for programming, but if you are referring to RX mode, as I suspect, that would be FM.

The "default" would be to set the frequency to FM. However, if you set the mode to either DC or CT and leave the tone value unprogrammed (0.0 or 000) the scanner will "search" for a tone and display its value.

I actually use this function of the scanner to note when I've picked something up on a specific frequency. I'll initially program a channel to FM, then once I hear something I'll set it to CT or DC.

Thank for all the replies, I left the Tone to 0.0. Will the Pro-164 automatically find the tone if any?

If you program the channel to CT and set the value to 0.0 it will find a CT if there is one. But it will not find a DC tone. So if you just get "search" and no tone, change the mode and see there is one of the other type.
