I visited Madison from July 7-10. I am guessing this has been reported, but I heard activity on the Deerfield tower (site 1-001). I heard talkgroups 14010, 100, and 105.

I spent a short time in Crawford County and listened to my scanner while in Prairie du Chien, but did not hear any WISCOM activity. Those towers may not be active yet.

Wirelessly posted (Mozilla/5.0 (webOS/1.4.5.1; U; en-US) AppleWebKit/532.2 (KHTML, like Gecko) Version/1.0 Safari/532.2 Pixi/1.1)

Red Cliff (Site 67) is now on 152.5925 MHz.

I'm excitedly waiting for Delta to come online. It should have great coverage with the new location.

The last few days I have been picking up a faint control channel on 152.7425 (B0C) here in Appleton. Anyone have any idea which site this might be?

Pretty good signal here in New London. Any idea what the other frequencies would be for this site? A search of the FCC site came up with no license for Wautoma.

From what I have seen the 152 MHz frequencies being used for WISCOM usually don't show up in the FCC database. Being a military allocation, the 139 MHz frequencies are not governed by the FCC so we have no information as to assignment. The "normal" VHF frequencies, if any are in use at the site, would be licensed as with any other application. Because of saturation none of those frequencies may be used at the site, so no license.

Until OpSec adds the site to the RR database along with some others the only ways to find them are to monitor and see what frequencies are in use when traffic is present on that site and what frequencies the control channel may move to.

Another method would be to use a control channel decoding application such as Unitrunker. FYI, there have been a couple reports, and I myself have had the same issue, of Unitrunker not working properly on WISCOM.

Visible Progress

For those of you who haven't got the various emails, seen it on the website, or been notified some other way, there is a WISCOM Training/Usage Day on Tuesday in Wausau. Here is a link to the info on the website: Training Day. Looks like it would be really interesting to attend, but for anyone listening in the area, or maybe even us farther out, there might be quite a bit of traffic on the system for the demonstrations. Maybe even the Demo talkgroups will finally get used.

There is also a good amount of information added to the website at times. A recent addition was the draft of the Administrative Manual with more details of how the system will function. If you get a change look through the Guidance for Talkgroups section. Especially exciting is that RTACx1 is going to be forced to all sites covering the respective regions. Those talkgroups should also be used by comm centers for multicasting incidents. Looks like STAC1 is going to continue to be forced statewide, too.

Sorry to correct you MarcusDude, but 152.7425 is site # 29 in Berlin. Site # 81 in Wautoma is not up yet.

Looks like the only voice channel Berlin can trunk to right now is 151.070 Mhz. That is the only channel being broadcast in it's table info at the moment.

Anybody know when Scandinavia should be on the air? My personal guess is early fall when the new P25 repeaters for Waupaca County are supposed to come on the air, but that's just a guess that they would do it at the same time. Anybody know for sure?

I can verify that last weekend I got great control channel decode on the Perkinstown (Taylor) and Spirit (Price) sites. I believe Perkinstown was on 139.4125 and Spirit was on 151.415.

Check out the "WISCOM TOWER SITES" MAP in this presentation for tower current active status and when the others should come online.

In West Bend on business.

Attached is a screenshot from PRO96COM of a site that I'm receiving at 99%.

Hope one of the locals can help ID it...

Take a look in the database. With exception to a couple sites way up north, everything (that I am aware of ) is entered. Cross-reference your received freqs with the site list and you'll find it when you look at the associated map for each site.
