Gauley Tower is what fayette county fire/ems/state/county/city police use

Oh ok. Couldn't tell for sure who it was or what agency but they were testing radios wanting to know how the reception was. Bert I heard this about 3 PM today.

Lucky me I was outside messing around the back yard,lol But I have it in my scanner now just in case I catch it,My luck sucks when new talkgroups show up and I'm not at the scene lol
65xx should be Nicholas. xx13 Should be a fire dept. or departments
I've never heard Nicholas county use Gauley tower for transmissions(which is on Gauley Mountain near Gauley Bridge) only Fayette county uses that tower extensively.

Hey Bert we have the ability when we have units down in the Dixie, Belva, and Swiss area to switch to Nicholas Fire Gauley or Nicholas Law Gauley. They're not used very much but they are used some. Thanks Jeff on that possibly being a Nich Fire TG. I've got it saved I'm thankful that I was lucky enough to catch it.

Chad that's a new one for me,I've never heard anyone on any Nicholas county frequency use gauley tower for communication(fayette county usually announces they are switching to gauley tower for clearer dispatching when they are coming garbled in places)

Those freqs. for Nich Co using the Gauley Tower are the same for the law and fire respectively just different DCS codes for access.

So when Nicolas County access' Gauley Tower they never announce it like Fayette County does?

Our law units announce it as "Area 5" and channel 5 is the Gauley Law Tower. Fire units announce it as "on Gauley". Hope this helps some. Also the freqs are the same countywide just different DCS codes to access each one.

By the way,has anyone heard any stuff from either the fire marshal or medical examiner? I haven't heard a peep from either in quite awhile
Yes Bert, I get stuff from the ME every once in a while. I haven't heard the Fire Marshal on there for a long time.
Jess I used to get the ME at 9958 every so often,is that the one you get when there's something?
Probably my luck they talk when I'm at work or when I'm sleeping lol
Hey guys Friday evening while in Beckley I caught a key up from TG 9958 Med Examiner 5 on the Pax Site. Didn't hear any modulation but saw the TG come up briefly. I haven't heard the Fire Marshall either in quite a while but when I do it's either on FM 5 or DHS EM 1.
