WVSP Moundsville Detatchment must be preparing to go live on SIRN using TG 9003 because there has been extensive testing on it this week

I've always wonder how one gets a talkgroup(be a agency or a individual or a business)assigned to them, then go live to the IRP?

Not that I want to,all I'd have to do is apply for a talkgroup number, buy a IRP radio, program in local tower info and that's it?

Here, there and everywhere in WV
No, you have to have a direct need to be on the system for instance a Public Service Agency, Police, Fire, EMS, Hospital (confirmed subscriber) with different tiers/levels of operation. Programming is done through an approval process (background checks) on agency programmer applicant. Or another SIRN approved programmer can do the codeplug on your radio. One approved and programmed your radio data is entered into the SIRN computer system to accept your radio for use (radio is activated on the SIRN system).

RE: OHIO CO Simulcast

I see that the Ohio Co simulcast license (which is actually licensed by Ohio co and not WVDHHR) has a pending application for two additional simulcast sites.

One of them is listed as being in Cameron (Marshall Co) and another in Moundsville (Marshall Co).

If that happens, this will be either a 5-site or 6-site simulcast. The license shows it as currently being a 3-site simulcast, but I had heard rumors that it was actually four sites. The rumor was probably false though.

At any rate, as if the simulcast distortion weren't bad enough already, it'll probably get worse with the addition of two more transmitter sites being added to the simulcast.

Good luck, Mylan :)

Hello,

I have a digital radio for this system that were testing in Mineral County (new creek fire dept) and I was wondering why I cant hit a tower while in Winchester, VA for our Mineral EFR channel but I can hit the tower when i switch to either the Med Channels in it or the Region command channels. Any Idea why?

Your radio may not be allowed to use any other tower? Just a guess.

During the airshows in Martinsburg, you see all kinds of TGs pop up on the Berkeley tower. Last year I was hearing Boone Co. Sheriff's Office.

1-036 Weston (LEWIS) -- Online as of 12/26/2011

The Weston site is online. Call it what you want -- Weston, Roanoke, whatever. It's online.

Zone 1, Site 36 Weston (LEWIS)

Primary CC: 453.2625

It's listed in the DB - West Virginia Statewide Interoperability Radio Network (SIRN) Trunking System, Statewide, West Virginia - Scanner Frequencies

Propagation was pretty damned good down into WV early this AM. Hopefully we'll see some more of it, and I'm fairly certain we will. It's the time of year for it.

Still need site neighbors, alt CC if somebody happens to be running Unitrunker or Pro96Com.

Hey thanks Mike for that info. I'm about 50 miles from that location so reception of it here is extremely weak if received at all. Glad to know it is now operational. Maybe Cottle isn't too far behind.

Chad,

I bet Cottle is nipping on its heels. We've got quite a handful of sites unaccounted for in the DB, and if it's anything like last yearr I'm betting WV will see a half dozen sites coming online over the winter. Hope you area are the first ones. You've been waitin' a long time!

I was in Grafton with my 106 and laptop for the holidays, ran unitrunker for the harco sites. Did not catch any new TG's or even neighbor site info. Their tower is up but not online as of yet. Sometime in January from what I was told. I did submit radio programming info that I laid hold of. I couldnt find out if they would be digital but they will be working on VHF HI freqs. I will sibmit anything else I can find out for ya.
