Unidens are pre-programmed with system ids from the RR database. I guess Harrison Co was the first site so that's what Uniden programmed it to display when it detects the "170" system ID. The only problem with this is there are completely different systems with identical system IDs.

One case is these two systems. http://www.radioreference.com/apps/db/?sid=3958
http://www.radioreference.com/apps/db/?sid=2573

The LA site was the first one Uniden knew about, so as a result when I tune in the JNCR site it displays "Los Angeles Util".

I hadn't posted since then because of this. I figured it was something along these lines. I figured it was best left alone. :) I saw this about the same time as the Los Angeles Utility in the Northern VA area was discovered.

".

My scanner has never took a program from RR. During the time I setup Ghent and Kopperston I had done them by hand. During that time all I had was BC Tools and Scannerbase. Neither one of them I could not get it going for me for IRP system. Also I never had Bluetel software, or use Uniden version of it.

For the program that came with the scanner I had wiped it clean and start my own way with it when I figure out how to use it.

I thought I would try on one of AEP CC (EDAC Wide System). It display at LT SYSTEM ID:-----, unitl it display a TG on it. I tried to go back and bring the screen up and I seem not able to pick it up good enough to do it.

I think the 902x TGs will be TAC and Car-Car. I submitted 9027 and Troop2 Car-Car a while back and have heard it used a few times for tailing a car. They referred to another channel for encryption, which happened to be 9055. They then went back to 9027 since one was not able to hear the other.

I believe we are correct on this. 9025 seems to be car to car or tac. While listening to em they did mention the channel as direct and I know it is the state police. I'll prob submit 9025 as troop 5 car to car here in a moment. I have yet to see anything encrypted though. Really though there hasn't been any activity other than them until today minus 4933 testing the other day. Seems to have been a bit of testing going on today.

So far the logged groups for today....
4927
4931
5929
5941
6927
6933
9845

4927 Calling Logan central
http://jlprichard.googlepages.com/4927.mp3

9845 Huntington Medcom to Logan central
http://jlprichard.googlepages.com/medcomlogan.mp3

I didn't actually get to see which talkgroups were associated with this as I was off fooling with an antenna and didn't have the correct software running to log.... Logan calling Putnam and Wyoming

As for the system id scans yall are talking about on the uniden. The systems are preloaded by uniden in the firmware. I'm assuming most of this information was obtained from RR by uniden and put into the firmware which is what freqhopping is speaking of. It is just like the preloaded systems that come on a new uniden. They were put there by uniden from most likely the RR database.

WVScanner: I programmed in the Ansted frequencies and picked up traffic in Charleston, and Rainelle and around here for AEP I get a ED: number(like currently 1121) when I hear something. BlackAcid: You and Mike are listening to the WVIRP when you are listing those numbers? What do I need to add to listen on the same? it's obvious I probably don't have that in my WVIRP bank :p

It's part of the firmware, factory programming, not something you can change.

So the feds have given them a boatload of radios but have yet to approve the tower...

Hmmm....

Nice look at the screen displays, though.

Jefferson Co - 1507

Caught traffic on TG 1507. It sounded like a radio tech. Then someone that IDed themselves as Jefferson Co. Sheriff's Office told him to use proper radio discipline. He was almost stumbling over himself to apologize and said he didn't know it was a channel monitored by anyone.

Must be someone with a new toy. I think we'll hear more of this.

TG 931 - Berkeley Co. Site

Caught Berkeley Co. calling for a radio test on TG 931. I didn't catch who they were actually talking to. 931 does fall in line for an Interop Channel.

Jefferson Co. TGs

I think they are going to use the same scheme as Berkeley Co. for the TAC TGs.

This morning, they are using TG 1543 for Good Morning America in Harper's Ferry. It seems it might be TAC6 if it does follow Berkeley Co.

TG 1542 is patched to 168.425MHz.

"They" are calling 1543 TAC2. Also, they mentioned that ABC News had radios as well. From listening to everyone, they seemed to like the radios. It'll be interesting to see if they keep the NPS freqs patched to certain TGs.

Jefferson Fire/Rescue 1 is still patched to TG 1501.

Mike,

I too got that impression. I was up really late the other night listening in on the comms. I took from all the different TG's they were using that 1535 was PTAC2 though. Anyhow, as you can see I've updated the list with what I took from the various comms.

I'd bet that 1507 is going to be the main PD dispatch TG. I'm curious how the various PD's and the FD are going to share the TAC channels though.

Yeah, I heard them call it TPTAC2 as well the other day. We'll see. I think it's almost ready to go live.

Berkeley Co. Sheriff's Office using TG 1155 for the Martinsburg Airshow.

I think TG 1151 through TG 1157 are Law Tac channels from what I've heard. Anyone else agree?

1151 - Law Tac1
1153 - Law Tac2
1155 - Law Tac3
1157 - Law Tac4

Ok,I'm currently listening in on Morgantown frequencies 453.61250 and 460.26250(heard a motorcycle wreak on I68 just now) on MOT: 00307,I have it just on the WVIRP channel with the frquencies I imported, shocked me I listening to it now.

Edit: also a 453.81250 same MOT but I don't think it's in the WVIRP database?
