Paul,

Import system in ARC500 and change System Type to P25 Manual. Edit TTables and replace Table 1 and 2 as follows:
1. "CH LOW" 8192 "CH HI" 12287 "BASE FREQ" 453.0250 "OFFSET" 8192 "STEP" 12.5
2. "CH LOW 12288 "CH HI" 16383 "BASE FREQ" 450.0000 "OFFSET" 12288 "STEP" 6.25
Save and send to scanner

Alternately, If in range of a CC tower, set system to P25 Auto, Edit TTables to 0 in both line 1 and 2.
Save and send to scanner. Scan system and it should populate the tables above automatically

Ok thanks Frank .

I have followed your suggestions and we will see what happens.
I live in Bethelehem at the top of I 470 above Wheeling not quite as high up as the Highlands at the top of two mile hill but about 600 feet above the Ohio river . I have no idea where the nearest tower would be but that sounds good. how do i find out if there is a tower near enough. thanks for the help .Paul1

Click on Ohio Simulcast site 108 in the database. This should send a popup for call sign WQCL307, click on it to send you to a map with three towers. The closest may be Martins Ferry.

According to site 108, these Controls are used, 460.13750c 460.45000a. These should have been programmed during Trunk Import with ARC500.

When entered to scanner and during Scan, you can press MAN then F2 TSYS then F3 Analyz. Bottom line will indicate data released by the Control channel (red freq above) when you land on it using the up down buttons.

Press Scan to continue.

Ok Frank. I began by resetting the psr500 to factory settings , then i went into the arc500 software and changed the system to p25 auto and i cleared the ttables in the edit ttables collumn.
The t-tables collum are still set to custom is this correct? all the frequiencies are there according to the rr database and were imported. thanks paul1

Sounds like you got it Paul, yes, keep T-Tables to custom. You did import some talkgroup objects correct?

I think the nearest county talkgroups for your area is Monongalia County. Could be your area is not active yet. Have you analyzed the control channels?

Paul,
Have you heard any CC noise on your tower?

To use analyze
Press manual. Your system should be on line above TSYS
Press F2 then F3 Analyz
The first frequency should be listed as Ch01:
Does any thing list on bottom line with this freq?
If not, press the down button under SEL to chose another freq and check for activity on bottom line.

Repeat above until Ch01 reappears.

BTW, you may hear the control freq if it is active.
If no activity appears with any freq, you don't have an active control frequency listed.

CH08: 460.1375

With 99% decode rate if the tower was active you would be getting talkgroup activity. Also, talkgroups are yet to be listed in database for Ohio County indicating the site may not active yet.

Yes indeed it appears you are ready when the system becomes active. Also, if you travel to an area where sites are active, program the control frequency(s) in your setup and change ARC500 Multi Site to ROAM, save and send to scanner. Make sure you have talkgroups for the area or at least have a Wildcard programmed.

Should you hear and identify talkgroups, submit them to the database.
