I would be happy to see some work along the lines of bringing the ANALYZE functions up to par with the HP1 and HP2 series. One thing that I have continually cautioned about is not so much the overreach of expectations, but about the delivery of too much new functionality too quickly.

We have noted that certain firmware updates may have caused regressions of other features and functions or have had otherwise unintended or unanticipated consequences. I prefer a slower, albeit steadier introduction of updates that allows our group here to both evaluate the added functionality and to also observe any negative impact on existing features.

My recollection is that the last firmware update, while well intended, either did not function or had some unintended effects. Some here would find it hard to believe that after nearly two years of waiting for certain features to appear, I tend to feel that now that we are so close to achieving all the goals as they were originally intended, to prefer patience and prudence. I would rather see 4 or 5 quality features introduced one at a time, over the course of several months, rather than an entire package of goods dropped into the radio all at once.

Tomorrow marks the two year anniversary announcement of the x36HP line. Seems like yesterday that we watched the initial video.

I have been jumped by a few here for posting what a dealer has told me plus facts I know are true I also saw where a thread was locked for asking about programming your own APX7000 plus using E by the user. But I help people also so I say call it a truce and do what this place was designed to do and that is help users and leave it at that.

Upman saying ""huge, tremendous, fantastic feature addition", my guess is this feature is NOT a feature promised when the scanner first was released like missing features such as Andriod app, ad-hoc Wi-Fi, Analyze full features.

I'm guessing the other direction..... that it IS something not finished. Can't fathom that they would add something new now...with unfinished business..My 2¢

I would have guessed yesterday to mark the two year video announcement but than again he did say possibly near the end of the month if all goes well.

And we all know how time twists with respect to the Uniden timelines. People have been saying the scanners have been out two years many months ago. Yet, as you pointed out, they were only announced two years ago.

They weren't physically in consumers hands until Jan 2014. That's when I received mine and uploaded some of the first user videos.

I know. My point was that some people were saying they were out two years several months ago.

UPMan said by the end of the month. I would not expect it for another couple weeks (maybe a little longer if the QA people drag their feet).

11 days left!!!!!!!!!

Guys that are sitting in front of their computers and counting down the days, there have been a "few" missed deadlines---- I would prefer that what has been described as a "huge, tremendous, fantastic feature addition" be thoroughly vetted before being released. I know that Paul Opitz has been under a lot of pressure to produce something to complete the feature set promised with the original release, but at this point, with many having waited nearly 2 years, so I don't think an extra week or two, providing that it's done right.

That having been said, I am as excited as everyone to see something in the pipeline. I remember Paul once said something to the effect of "under-promise but over-deliver". With that in mind, I do get a little nervous when I see him say things like "huge, tremendous, fantastic feature addition".

The champagne is chilling, but I'm not ready to pop the cork....... quite yet.

You stand a better chance of picking 2 out of 6 lotto numbers than Uniden meeting a deadline. Besides after the last release I'm sure they are making sure everything works this time.

I know I am a new guy posting around here, but I am not new to owning scanner radios, I Started with a Bearcat 20/20 back in the early 1980's , just updated to a 436HP since almost everything around here is now P25 from a uniden built Radio Shack Trunktracker III.

My guess is the details of this killer feature is still not clear if it will be fully implemented and Upman does not want to post the list things it will do as some of them may not make the cut off date for this update.

Personally I would be happy with a few little tweaks here and there that could greatly improve functionality of the unit. Even something as simple as a distinct beep when USB is disconnected would help considerably so we are not surprised that we have been running on battery power the last 2 hours becuase the USB plug pulled loose. I am sure we could all come up with dozens of little things that would help us in how we use our scanners, another one I would love to see is a countdown sleep timer so I can listen to the scanner while I go to sleep at night and not be awoken in the middle of the night to something squealing.
The 436 has an Auto Shutoff Feature.

I think you just made Isaac-1 a very happy camper. The 436 and 536 have so many great features buried in the menus, that it's sometimes hard to get a handle on them all. I had the 536 before the 436. I'm embarrassed to tell you how many features I missed the first week or two with the 536.

P.S. Isaac-1, you'll find Auto Shutoff in the Settings Menu.

Very true, the last release with definitely "a little buggy". I imagine we'll probably find a bug or two in the upcoming release as well. But the thing that I fear more than bugs in the updated features themselves, is that perhaps they can affect, or cause some regressions, in some of the feature sets that we already have. I'm especially concerned about the upcoming release, because of the magnitude of what has been promised.

Look at scanner master web site under the 436. in features it says Siren APP - Coming soon. Could this be the next big thing that upman said was coming at the end of the month?
Most likely a misprint.
