• To anyone looking to acquire commercial radio programming software:

Please do not make requests for copies of radio programming software which is sold (or was sold) by the manufacturer for any monetary value. All requests will be deleted and a forum infraction issued. Making a request such as this is attempting to engage in software piracy and this forum cannot be involved or associated with this activity. The same goes for any private transaction via Private Message. Even if you attempt to engage in this activity in PM's we will still enforce the forum rules. Your PM's are not private and the administration has the right to read them if there's a hint to criminal activity.

If you are having trouble legally obtaining software please state so. We do not want any hurt feelings when your vague post is mistaken for a free request. It is YOUR responsibility to properly word your request.

To obtain Motorola software see the Sticky in the Motorola forum.

The various other vendors often permit their dealers to sell the software online (i.e., Kenwood). Please use Google or some other search engine to find a dealer that sells the software. Typically each series or individual radio requires its own software package. Often the Kenwood software is less than $100 so don't be a cheapskate; just purchase it.

For M/A Com/Harris/GE, etc: there are two software packages that program all current and past radios. One package is for conventional programming and the other for trunked programming. The trunked package is in upwards of $2,500. The conventional package is more reasonable though is still several hundred dollars. The benefit is you do not need multiple versions for each radio (unlike Motorola).

This is a large and very visible forum. We cannot jeopardize the ability to provide the RadioReference services by allowing this activity to occur. Please respect this.

I have three (3) radios that I seem to not be able to talk to each other on analog simplex.
Radios: XTS2500, XPR7580e, XPR7380e
Frequency range: 850-860 MHZ
Everything matches.
All DPLs match up and the Signaling Systems are all turned off.
The XPR7580e and XTS would talk to each other but suddenly stopped after I experimented with some stuff, but reverted it.
Am I missing a step?

Also yes I do have proper frequency coordination and licensing.

This frequency looks more like a public safety repeater output, rather than a simplex channel.

Can only see this frequency being used in a talk around mode on the repeater output when out of range of the system.

Do you have approval from agency that holds the FCC license for it. There are no shortcuts here, as you can't add radios without writing permissions from them. They need to be sure the radios meet specs and the license has has a maximum number of radios that can be used.

The OP states that he is located in Ellicott City, MD and that is near my work in Howard County

See the linked web page from this site below with this frequency being a simplex one for the Howard County Fire Department.

Going forward I kind of guessing doesn't really have permission to use it.

Now now now...let's not use that nasty word NO. That's a bad word here on these forums. I am sure the O/P is the authorized licensee, has all formal training and knowledge to program part 90 public safety radio subscribers, and is just checking out their local hobbyist forum to make sure they didn't overlook something obvious.

Its not that simple YOU have to use what you are Licensed for.
860.7375 is normally used for trunking systems like this
But not for that jurisdiction it is listed along with some other 800's as a conventional (albeit no TONE in RRDB) so my first assumption is compare the tones again (PL or DPL ?) or ensure you are not set for Repeater mode

If the OP lives where they list in profile then they are 140 Air Miles from the only License Holder for that Frequency in MD.

Howard County has license for 860.7375. Please see what I linked above in post 12 with links to the County showing this.

Callsign is WPQX905

buddrousa, I now see the database page for Howard County and the FCC database are conflict on this frequency.

The database on this site shows as talkaround and FCC license data shows it as repeater output.

Would think the use for repeater output more correct

Many agencies, can/do use the Outputs for some Simplex ops, altho some never listed on the FCC licenses :( which should be MO's
Additionally the License quoted only lists Repeaters (FB2) and not even the inputs. WPLU697 lists the inputs

Likely the RRDB was reported from someone's Code Plug with Close-call, hence No PL/DPL/NACs reported (IMHO)

Perhaps the OP could clarify what this frequency is used for.
