• To anyone looking to acquire commercial radio programming software:

Please do not make requests for copies of radio programming software which is sold (or was sold) by the manufacturer for any monetary value. All requests will be deleted and a forum infraction issued. Making a request such as this is attempting to engage in software piracy and this forum cannot be involved or associated with this activity. The same goes for any private transaction via Private Message. Even if you attempt to engage in this activity in PM's we will still enforce the forum rules. Your PM's are not private and the administration has the right to read them if there's a hint to criminal activity.

If you are having trouble legally obtaining software please state so. We do not want any hurt feelings when your vague post is mistaken for a free request. It is YOUR responsibility to properly word your request.

To obtain Motorola software see the Sticky in the Motorola forum.

The various other vendors often permit their dealers to sell the software online (i.e., Kenwood). Please use Google or some other search engine to find a dealer that sells the software. Typically each series or individual radio requires its own software package. Often the Kenwood software is less than $100 so don't be a cheapskate; just purchase it.

For M/A Com/Harris/GE, etc: there are two software packages that program all current and past radios. One package is for conventional programming and the other for trunked programming. The trunked package is in upwards of $2,500. The conventional package is more reasonable though is still several hundred dollars. The benefit is you do not need multiple versions for each radio (unlike Motorola).

This is a large and very visible forum. We cannot jeopardize the ability to provide the RadioReference services by allowing this activity to occur. Please respect this.

Perhaps the OP could clarify what this frequency is used for

I guess he could but he also said which other frequencies he could use. So we really don't know how is going to use the radio. Looks like he is just trying to use them between his radios and not for official reason.

Ah, must be why. Do you have any frequencies tha5 are approved for the XPR? Thanks.

Many agencies, can/do use the Outputs for some Simplex ops, altho some never listed on the FCC licenses :( which should be MO's
Additionally the License quoted only lists Repeaters (FB2) and not even the inputs. WPLU697 lists the inputs

I'll point out that FCC rule 90.621(a)(1)(ii) allows 800 MHz licensees to operate simplex on any repeater output without the need for licensing additional MO's.

The op is over 100 miles from the system listed and was the only listing in MD

Not used by the trunked system in Howard County, but they still hold a license under WPQX905 for 860.7375 and most likely used for simplex operation like the database on this site shows.

The XPR was not approved on some 800mhz frequencies. Ran into this with the 8TAC stuff as custoemr bought one and couldn't use it. Verify radio split.
No. Motorola blocked the NPSAPC specific frequencies, to force public safety agencies to the ASTRO series. The XPR7x80/5x80series radios cover 806-941MHz. This is why you need the 'Canadian' EID to unlock those specific frequencies.

To let you all know, yes I have permission to use this. But the radios are suddenly talking to each other, but when I'm on a different zone. I'm guessing it's a scna issue which I can easily fix. Guess it went under my radar. Thanks to all!

I have three (3) radios that I seem to not be able to talk to each other on analog simplex.
Radios: XTS2500, XPR7580e, XPR7380e
Frequency range: 850-860 MHZ
Everything matches.
All DPLs match up and the Signaling Systems are all turned off.
The XPR7580e and XTS would talk to each other but suddenly stopped after I experimented with some stuff, but reverted it.
Am I missing a step?
Update: all working.

Now now now...let's not use that nasty word NO. That's a bad word here on these forums. I am sure the O/P is the authorized licensee, has all formal training and knowledge to program part 90 public safety radio subscribers, and is just checking out their local hobbyist forum to make sure they didn't overlook something obvious.
Exactly this. Thanks!
