• To anyone looking to acquire commercial radio programming software:

Please do not make requests for copies of radio programming software which is sold (or was sold) by the manufacturer for any monetary value. All requests will be deleted and a forum infraction issued. Making a request such as this is attempting to engage in software piracy and this forum cannot be involved or associated with this activity. The same goes for any private transaction via Private Message. Even if you attempt to engage in this activity in PM's we will still enforce the forum rules. Your PM's are not private and the administration has the right to read them if there's a hint to criminal activity.

If you are having trouble legally obtaining software please state so. We do not want any hurt feelings when your vague post is mistaken for a free request. It is YOUR responsibility to properly word your request.

To obtain Motorola software see the Sticky in the Motorola forum.

The various other vendors often permit their dealers to sell the software online (i.e., Kenwood). Please use Google or some other search engine to find a dealer that sells the software. Typically each series or individual radio requires its own software package. Often the Kenwood software is less than $100 so don't be a cheapskate; just purchase it.

For M/A Com/Harris/GE, etc: there are two software packages that program all current and past radios. One package is for conventional programming and the other for trunked programming. The trunked package is in upwards of $2,500. The conventional package is more reasonable though is still several hundred dollars. The benefit is you do not need multiple versions for each radio (unlike Motorola).

This is a large and very visible forum. We cannot jeopardize the ability to provide the RadioReference services by allowing this activity to occur. Please respect this.

Evening folks! I have an XTS3000 that is currently connected to a SmartZone network. It works perfectly! The only problem I am experiencing is, when I attempt to connect to a SmartNET system, it gives me "Out of Range". I'm not exactly sure why this is occurring, I've spent hours attempting to fix this. If anyone can give me a hand or a few tips, that would be greatly appreciated!

Is your radio flashed for Smartzone and smartnet. Whats the flashcode for you radio. Do you have permission to be connected to this system? If so try and talk to the system admin. They might be able to help you.

If it's flashed for Smartzone, it will do Smartnet.

I suspect you've got a trunking parameter wrong.

Out of range normally means the radio cannot hear a control channel but since it works on a Smartzone system ????? How far are you from the Smartnet system? If you are in range of the Smartnet system then I would check the control channel frequencies you have programmed for the Smartnet system. There could also be other trunking parameters wrong as mentioned by Mike.

Change the trunking profile from Astro 25 too II/IIi. The smartnet system is probably 3600bps Analog.
and the Smartzone is 9600 P25.

Of course I am making a lot of assumptions here, more info would be helpful.
Like what systems are you trying to connect to?

I can never figure out Y if (assuming) your a valid user on both systems. Y ask a question here, when your systems admins should be just a phone call away. Just my opinion. Because no one here can answer your question better than your admins.

With the little info you provided it is hard to say what your radio's issue is.

Unless he's got the one specific version of firmware that allows 9k6 operation, that wouldn't be necessary.

Because I am willing to bet this person isn't really supposed to be doing this, lol

Not saying he's wrong, just saying that's probably the case...

I hate be assuming of people , but come on it obvious when people ask questions like this what they are trying to do.

You just don't realize the problems you could cause to public saftey users and legally yourself. And that my friend I am not assuming!

Time to lock this thread and send a next step is a ban warning.

For those not following the Batlabs threads, this isn't authorized by the sys admin and the sys admin is aware and ready to brick the radio if it appears on the system.

The thread on Batlabs was closed and locked along with an apology by the OP for not being truthful.

Simply, Wow! Apology? Nice, I like honesty and admitting your lying that is rare these days.

Maybe it was part of his new years resolution.

Well done sir, well done.
