After two complete hard restarts of my PC here is the code it throws trying to read from scanner to PC.

I’ve been getting that same error message with previous versions as well on Windows 10. It works fine with Windows 7, but I think whatever causes the error corrupts something on the SD card because it will carry over to my Windows 7 machine. Reformatting the SD card seems to fix it. Needless to say, I only program my TRX-2 with my Windows 7 machine.

After reading through this thread, I’ll skip this update.

Same issue

Just downloaded and installed the new ezscan for trx-2 , on win 7 same issue when you try to copy from scanner/sd card to pc I get the error below . When this happens EZScan locks up and the only way to close it is to go into device manager and kill it off there . Then when you start it up again it asks to set band plan . Sure make for a pain in the can .

Bingo. Does the exact same thing when that error pops up. This apparently has been an issue for a while, because I even encountered it when I first programmed the scanner when I got it for my birthday last year.

If you go beyond the band plan window, it'll likely show whatever it read from the scanner up until the error popped up. I've noticed that on occasion the text tags for each of the systems I programmed will be reset to defaults, but beyond that everything is there.

After I reformatted my SD card, the error seemed to go away, and only reappeared after I programmed it with a Windows 10 machine and read it with my Windows 7 machine. I now only use my Windows 7 computer to program it.

From what I've read in other posts, EZScan seems to not play very well with Windows 10.

Ive been running it (for 1095, 1098, and TRX-2) for some time now and have had no issues. Windows 10 Pro 64-bit. Not sure if the problems are on a different version or not.

Anyone figure out a work around to getting the software to read from the scanner and or card?

I cannot get the software to read either connected to the scanner nor taking the card direct to the PC. Both ways tried have ended in the hard booting of the PC each time when it locks up at the 33% read.

An update from Whistler would be awesome sometime today.

Wow! that looks really valuable...

It is valuable as we should NOT have to hard boot the PC when this locks up. Task manager is not available as it locks the entire PC.

My PC is two years old, has 12G of ram and a 3TB hard drive running an Intel Icore i7 @3.20Ghz
So, I know there is nothing wrong with it other than this software glitch with Whistler.

Worst case, you could manually copy the folder from the SD card to your computer. The CDAT folders are where the VScanners are stored.

Whistler FIX:

The only fix will be when Whistler updates their software. As long as they have the wrong code as an update you will not get correct size on your Whistler E-Z Scan software. Until they fix, re-install WS1080Install_2.30.0.562.exe which corrects their coding error! WS1080Install_2.31.0.569.exe is BAD CODE !!

PC App V 2.35 Still No Fix?

I'm running version 2.35 Of the PC App & still get this error. I guess I can assume, Still not fixed other than "re-install WS1080Install_2.30.0.562.exe" ?

That error is a corrupt file on the SD card or in the CDAT folder on your PC ( My Documents/Models number). I've gotten it a few times and what seems to correct it on the SD card is to have windows check for errors on the card. It may pick some up and let it fix it. Once fixed THEN copy the files to EZScan. It should work. Best to use a SD card Reader for this!!

Yes, when that error pops up, you have to do CTRL/ALT/DEL to access Task Manager. I"ve never had to reboot the PC to clear the error.

I am a new guy on the block with a TRX 2. My card reader works fine when I use it. My issue is trying to get Win 10 to send to the TRX 2 and vice versa. They will not link. I have tried ever piece of advice I can locate on here and have not made an inch of progress. I have tried several different cords, done all of the Com driver recommendations, up dated from Whistler web site, done the right click on program and set DIP etc. Has any one really found away around this? I know I can work with the disc drive but would be nice to have the item I bought actually do what it is supposed to do.

It can be quite a pain, especially when Windows does an update and throws out the drivers it needs to communicate with your radio in favor of what MS thinks are better ones. Most of us just use the USB for firmware & DSP updates and write the programming directly to the SD card. Not only is it a lot less of a hassle, the upload goes much faster going directly to the card.

Operator error is the #1 reason for dissatisfaction with the equipment. :p
