does anyone know what weather broadcasts are on 33.42? This evening I heard a second weather station with fairly lowish audio mixing with Orlando FL on 33.42 - this was around 8 pm local time here.

I'm wondering was this the one out of Washington state or is there another one on this frequency.

Orlando will Identify with a short recording overtop the weather broadcast. Cape Coral does not identify itself like Orlando does. Cape Coral has a lower audio too.

WQJW689 is the one located in Sammamish Washington. WQJW689 over the weekend had no weather reports, only a repeated loop of info on the station ID of WQJW697.

Hi all,

nice early afternoon opening to the US getting up to 35 mhz at one point.

Highlight was an absolutely booming signal from an Equine Vet service in Maryland on 33.04, both the mobile vet and base were heard and the dispatcher was LOUD. heard giving telephone numbers and names in the Hampstead MD area.

That transmission came from the North Tower for Fayette County 911, PA and would have most likely been dispatching Bullskin Twp Fire Department (ST45). (Seem to remember hearing a wreck there today. . . .Don't always keep my radio on in my downstairs office but was upstairs near the scanner in the equipment room for part of the shift )
