I've been getting the Range Control on 48.700 also last few days, it has a double beep when they unkey and is simulcast on 49.900 i copied both at the same time with 2 different Bct15x's hooked to the same antenna, the AR-6 Ringo Ranger at 100 feet through my Stridsburg multicoupler, exact same transmission double beeps at end of TX and everything. I'm wondering where they are at (ID).

I got a nice surprise today! I keep my FT-991A tuned to 30.000 MHz all the time when I'm Home and VHF Lo is open, trying to get info/ID on the mystery station I mentioned before.

Today about 8:00 AM it was S9 plus on the FT-991A which is hooked to an old 10 meter 4 element Quad at 120 Feet and pegging my BCT15X's.
The base was working Whiskey Six and Whiskey Seven (I heard Whiskey Seven answer on the quad but not on the Ringo)
anyway the base operator ID'd himself as "This is Hooligan X-ray".

Does anyone have a clue who/where this station is??

As for the rest, I've been receiving so much stuff that I haven't even taken the time to try to log the majority of it but here's a sample from today.
30.000 150 Unknown Range control and possible helos (Whiskey Six and Seven) "This is Hooligan X-ray".
30.150 150 Unknown Range Control
46.100 100 "Locust Valley Signal 9 - ambulance to respond multiple pedestrians struck at 151 Pine Hollow Rd. (Could clearly hear NY accent).
:(
46.100 DCS754 "Rescue on Scene"
46.500 141.3 mentioned Yonkers.
48.700/49.900 150 "This is Range Control over" Beep Beep.

39.54 is installed in most VSP cars in Virginia and most counties are able to speak directly to troopers when needed. Also Baton Rouge,LA use to have a channel in use on 39.54 as well as Hamilton County TN had a transmitter located on Lookout Mtn TN and some others near Nashville TN. Back in the old days I use to hear Louisiana State police on 39.50 KKC593 and Rapides parish on 39.42 KKC747. Also Dallas Texas on 37.18 I dont hear any of them anymore when the band is open

To Empireco,
There was once an excellent scanner magazine, that I always looked forward to buying (along with Monitoring Times by Bob Grove) at my local Barnes & Nobles booksellers store, called "Scanning USA." James Blaha was the editor for this periodical. Too bad it is no longer in publication and the former website domain is now for sale. There was an issue that once had a great VHF Low Band list of frequencies for Fort Hood, Texas. Could it be possible that you are receiving 30.05 MHz? The article listed this frequency as one of several Range Control frequencies for Fort Hood, Texas including the well known frequency 30.45 MHz.

Skip was hopping for a hot minute here in southeast Ohio. 29.60 was busy with ham simplex and I caught bits and pieces of a 10 meter repeater on 29.64 MHz. Fire activity on 33.82, 33.84, and 33.90 but nothing held the frequency long enough for me to confirm addresses. The accents tell me most are from the New England area. At least one is a simulcast of a UHF or 800 system because the mobiles are loud and clear and you can hear the repeater hang time retransmitted on low band.

No way it's 30.05 I can move the VFO to 30.005 and lose the signal plus I can see the center peaks of the signals with the band scope/waterfall with the Yaesu 991A

Skip is wide open here in Kentucky today!!! coming from all directions!!! Look forward to making a log later on.

I've confirmed the Airfield I'm receiving on 41.500 is Fort Carson, operator was giving weather advisory and said lightning strike 5 nautical miles north of Fort Carson! That's probably the same one you've been picking up too KKN50.

Conditions appear to be good into Europe from NE US and Canada, right now (22 H GMT) on 10m phone. Of course, likely both ends are using very efficient antennas.
RR always seems to assign a different time to my posts, so the Zulu/GMT/UTC Reference puts it aright, if this is the case. Courtesy of the DXMaps website, all credit to them:
