Welcome to the new year!

Now is the time to take a look at MOSWIN sites to verify their frequencies - especially the 700 MHz sites. Some sites listed in the RR database likely have "missing" freqs that have not been submitted as confirmed - eg 1-80 Unionville, 3-41 W Plains & 3-42 Steelville looks to be a standard template (see spreadsheet) but freqs have not been observed - AND you CAN HELP!

Also, some sites MAY have freqs that seem wrong - either reported incorrectly, mis-programmed by MOSWIN, or changed from standard due to co-channel issues, eg: 3-40 Dexter.

Then there are the "older" 700MHz sites with frequencies NOT conforming to a "standard" template. These sites may well HAVE CHANGED to a standard template and should be confirmed (OR they may change in the future): - see below

FINALLY, the SITE NACs on ALL SITES need to be confirmed - several have changed. These are used by the newer scanners and need to be correct.

Here's a handy reference to the 700 MHz sites:
700 MHz MOSWIN SITES SPREADSHEET

PLEASE SUBMIT any changes - remember RadioReference is crowd-sourced and you can help!

Thanks

Wally

Non-template sites to verify all freqs:
1-16 Jeff City
1-43 Palmyra
1-44 Canton
1-47 Columbia
1-48 Kingdon City
1-51 Sedalia
1-58 Tuscumbia
3-34 Leasburg
3-37 Mountain View
3-46 Marble Hill
3-55 Cape Girardeau Simo

(PS/extra credit: there's also a few skipped site numbers - they may be "out there" 1-82, 1-84, 1-88, and 3-50 thru 3-54)

@kb9hgi - can you search the 700 MHz band for a new control channel to replace the missing Canton control frequency? Look especially in the 769.1 to 769.3 and 773.0 to 773.1 MHz area. Thanks

ok 769.4437 says site 0144 I think that is canton but it says Palmyra 700 on the screen. I think something is messed up in the data base also Im picking up 769.4450 for site 0144

The confusion comes inside your radio. It only knows "some site" is using 469.44375 and "guesses" Palmyra, which has the SAME control channel as the existing one in Canton. So Canton continues on the air with a non-template set of frequencies. Another time is might say Bagnell or Neosho which also use that control channel.
Seeing 769.4450 and 769.44375 just means it is strong and shows up on the adjacent frequency.
NO CHANGES for Canton (yet)
thanks for checking

@kb9hgi - 1-43 is Palmyra and it has been non-template so it is likely to have changed. 773.06875 Control would put it on template "J" so look for alt control on 773.31875 and voice on:

CHannel template freq
3j773.56875
4j773.81875
5j774.06875
6j774.31875

Also do check that there is no control signal on 769.44375 where Palmyra used to be.
Thanks

For the west plains site and any 700 site of you get the control and it’s a template (as all new 700 site will likely be) then it’s a safe bet to say the voice channels are also active. They’re not going to put a site online with just a control and not have the voice channels. Otherwise the site would be useless. Not to mention it could take weeks to catch transmissions across all voice channels as some sites see very few affiliations (sometimes no affiliations with a day).

The control channel for canton according to the list I have should have the control channel on 769.90625. Might check that to see if it’s correct.

The sheet I got the control channel for canton 700 off of is possibly outdated on several 700 sites. It was dated July 2019.

On a mother note. Currently working to identify a new talk group in the stone county fleet. Talk group is 30914. If you are in that area give it a listen.

Additionally, if there are any contributors in the Rolla area. The site NAC is still needed for the Rolla 700 site.

Ok. I received a message earlier asking about the talk group. Appears to be very active today. I don’t have it in my sheet of the stone county talk groups. They must’ve applied for it recently. My sheet is a couple years old.

We think it MIGHT be Kimberling City PD. I’ll watch for it when I go down to stone county tomorrow.
