Still wrenching on the car in the garage, but today I put the battery back in just to charge it a bit and listen to the radio. Caught these two right around sunset. Nothing crazy rare, but listening to those graveyard channels is always fun. Both around 75 miles from me, 1KW each.

1490 WGEZ Beloit, WI 8pm local CDT "True Oldies" Nice ident with call.
1490 WPNA Oak Park, IL 8pm local CDT local ads and ident with "1490 Oak Park / Chicago"

Still wrenching on the car (valve job), but got the battery in it and I listened to the car radio right around sunset a bit tonight, 8pm local (Central Daylight if you must) Nothing crazy, just ~200 miles or so:

1490khz KRIB Mason City, IA with ABC News at TOH. Could be a new logging for me, I don't remember that call.
1490khz WIGM Medford, WI with Milwaukee Brewers baseball (had to look up the radio network to find out who was running the game Brewers Radio Network | brewers.com: Schedule)

Also heard another major league game, but couldn't tell which teams were playing, and another Ident that sounded like WIPL, but that's not right.

I don't see it either.

Please let us know when you can get the blog back up, Paul. I enjoyed your blog, also enjoyed seeing the pics of your DX locations. Tasmania looks like a nice place.

Last DX here was 1650 KYHN, Ft. Smith AR w/ Red Eye Radio, evening of 6/19, w/ a DX-350 and a loop, also came in barefoot. Otherwise, MW DX conditions have been a bit mediocre.

2120z ... what's that for you in local time Ridge? Before, during, or after sunset?
Oh man-I just realized, because you asked, that I put the wrong time of reception in post 613-it was actually 0425utc which is 9:25pm my time. I apologize for that. I guess my UTC clock I read that night was reading way off(i must have accidentally bumped a button on that little gray clock you see in the video) and I didn't give a second thought to the UTC correlation to my local time:( which indicates that my earlier claim that UTC is "second nature" to me aint entirely true. I stand corrected.

I did some summer BCB DXing last night. Caught a new graveyarder: 1340 KROC Rochester, MN. at 0300 UTC. Faint ID popped out of the noise at TOH. 322 miles
