I wonder if 1F5 Site 47 is Muncie (Delaware county) Callsign: WPCQ247. It's either very low profile, or not online. A few of those frequencies came up as DMR freqs on UT. WPCQ247 and WQHT567 are not very far away from each other geographically.

It is odd though that mjdewey reported Site 47 online with CC Of 854.2125 but some neighboring sites 45 and 48 do not report it as a neighbor. We do not have a peer list for Bryant yet, so I'm not sure if it shows the peer online or not. Maybe it's in a state of being brought online and was shut of sometime between the time mjdewey caught it and now.

Unknown TGs observed on 1F5 site 45: TG1205 & TG1222. UT has ran for almost 24 hours and this one radio changing channels 20 minutes ago has been the only traffic on this site.

I'm picking up a site 87 on System 1F8 from South Texas. CC of 855.3375. Possibly Corpus Christi site but other frequencies don't match license (855.6375, 856.7875, 857.7875, 858.7875). No peers reported and no activity yet

So to be clear, you are picking up:

1F8-87.87
855.3375 cc
855.6375 ac
856.7875 ac
857.7875 ac
858.7875 ac

Is that right? Are you sure about the 855.6375?

I wonder if you could be pulling in a distant site via tropo?

Texas is one of the areas where AEP has a large number of licenses with a large number of frequencies attached to a site. Makes it very difficult to pin down sites based upon FCC data. They are trimming that down with updates to FCC records that they have been doing, but there are still a ton of licenses with 50-60 frequencies on a site.

What I would suggest is that in whatever program you are using to copy that site, delete all information for 1F8 and start brand new. If you still get the same results, then the results are right. But I am just suggesting this to make sure there haven't been any channels picked up other sites inadvertently because of switching between control channels of different sites.

Then, I suppose the next thing I would do is make note of whether I can pick it up 100% of the time, day/night. Or if it's weak/strong constantly. You want to figure out if it's a site far away that you are pulling in via tropo, or a closer site that can be copied 24/7 regardless of atmospheric conditions.

Mike, it’s great to see some folks from Texas chiming in. We pretty much got Ohio covered with an exception of a few. I am happy to see more folks posting here on the forum with more confirmed sites.

Mike,

Is there a better place to post unknown TGs seen on these systems?

Also, 1F5 site 45 is now showing site 47 as a peer.

Mike,

1F5 site 42 shows 47 as a neighbor as well. As you said earlier, 47 may have been in a testing phase when it was first discovered. Maybe that's why it wasn't showing as peers/neighbors on the other sites over the past week.

What is Site 42 showing as the current control channel for Site 47 ?

As for unknown talkgroups, navigate to the AEP system in the RRDB, then click on "Wiki" at the top right, then click on the section for INdiana-MIchigan Power 1F5. On that page you can enter in unknown talkgroups that you have them documented, if you want. That's the only place I know of to post them. I have already put the two that you talked about yesterday in the wiki.

Signal is somewhat weaker this morning but all channels reappeared as above. Don't believe it is skip as not getting anything else outside of about 50 miles. Will check north and south of here over next few days and see if can locate.

I know that up here in Ohio, when some new sites came online, I had seen some with frequenciees that weren't associated with the site. But once the site went "live" to where it was broadcasting peers and had talkgroup traffic, they had eventually switched the frequencies to the ones on the license.

And in Ohio, even after the sites went live, oftentimes the new P25 replacement site would broadcast the Alt CCs as part of the P25 system when they were, in fact, still in use as EDACS channels before the corresponding EDACS site was decomissioned.

So maybe it's just a matter of time before characteristics of Site 87 change on their own, as AEP does testing.

Mike,
Site 42 shows the current CC for site 47 as 854.2125. Also, of note, the current CC for site 42 has rotated to 855.4125.

Just now TG 1222 was active on Site 42. It popped up a Voice Channel on UT of 854.1875 LCN 08-510. That same frequency, but with LCN 00-255 is also an ACC for site 42. Why/How would the ACC and Voice Channel be the same frequency, but different LCNs?

it is a phase 2P 25 system. Talk group surveys to TDMA. So voice activity is going to be with a different LCM prefix

Ok.

I'll submit additional 1F5 site 44, and 47 data in a few minutes.
OK sounds good. Sorry about that last post. I’m dictating into my phone rather than typing, and the phone isn’t doing a very good job

i meant to say that since it is a Phase Ii P25 system, the talkgroups are TDMA. Each voice channel supports two simultaneous voice calls. You will see LCN 8-#### on voice channels.

IN is looking very nice thanks to the guys up there.
OK is coming along quite nicely as well

Additional new neighbors for 1F9-10.10 (Leonard OK) were submitted today
- 856.9125 ( 1F9-7.7 ) - Most likely Tulsa OK (Tulsa), much less likely Grove OK (Delaware)
- 854.4625 ( 1F9-49.49 ) - Stigler OK (Haskell)

It's like talkgroups vs sites. Talkgroups are useless without sites. Similarly, you can't find a site if there is nobody there willing and able to sniff it out.

Thanks again!

M
Well I have been focused on sites. I can set up a SDR to start targeting TG's but I am not as good as listening to recordings. What helps you map the TG'S?
