I am still looking but am stumped on a couple of things. The S&P frequencies loaded refer to Enterprise(HS) however there is also an Enterprise(PD) set of frequencies that are not in there plus the control channel frequency for Enterprise(HS) is not in there so nothing is likely to work without that. Give a few more minutes.

Can you post a picture of the screen where you click on S&P, then the next line that should show what agencies you are scanning.

Also if you might want to click on the US on top, the Alabama, then Coffee. In there you will see Statewide Systems. Expand that, you will see S&P at bottom and expand that, you will then see what has me confused about S&P

When you look in Sentinel (USA , Alabama, Coffee) it shows for S&P the Elba Police and Fire (TGID of 4xxx) plus 4 school frequencies (TGID 5xxx), so I think they loaded the wrong frequencies for you. I think you need the Enterprise (PD) frequencies.

I think you are comfortable editing favorites. Click on edit Favorites at the top and pick Coffee Cnty AL Area as the favorite to edit. You should be able to go to the top part, expand USA, expand Alabama, expand Coffee, expand Statewide, Expand S&P Communications and see an item called Enterprise (PD). Right click on that, then click on Append to Favorite. That should add that one to your favorite. Then save your favorite.

That will have two sets of frequencies (PD and what is called Enterprise). That ok for the moment. Then take a picture of the S&P Com shown on your screen and post that. If that looks good, then I will ask you to delete the entry under S&P Com that is called Enterprise because it has the wrong info.

On a much more IMPORTANT note, I think I just figured out what the major problem is.

You have confirmed that the Enterprise Police are talking on the STREETS frequency using RAN 9 (which stands for Radio Access Number). The scanner only looks for traffic using that number. HOWEVER, if you look at the frequencies in the trunked City of Enterprise System, all of those frequencies are set to only look at traffic using RAN 1 and that frequency (you heard Entp Police on) is also in the truck set of frequencies as RAN 1. I think whoever loaded the trunk frequencies confused the TGID number of 1 which the police use on the trunk with the RAN number which should have been 9.

Here what I want you to try.... edit the Enterprise entry (that contains only the 5 frequencies) under City of Enterprise. Change the RAN 1 to RAN 9 and save that.

If you look at the 2nd picture I posted earlier showing the trunk frequencies and TGID for City of Enterprise, you will see that page shows on the left side a "009 (9)" in the box next to the frequencies but a TGID of 1 for police on down is name of users.

One of the oldest tricks in scanning is --- if you don't have a scanner that can follow trunk systems, just enter all of the trunk frequencies associated with the truck system and as long as the scanner can decode NXDN or P25 Digital, you will hear the traffic on the channel but won't follow it if skips to a different frequency. Therefore, you were actually catching the traffic "the old fashion way"

Don't write to the scanner yet, I think I want you to change one more thing.

You should also note that -- the frequencies from the S&P Enterprise (PD) are set to look for RAN 9, so it correct.

I think you successfully added the Enterprise (PD) under the S&P. If you did, those should show RAN 9 (which is what I am seeing in the Sentinel database). If the Enterprise (PD) is there, you can just delete the old entry called Enterprise using RAN 15 since it is wrong and doesn't have a control channel. BTW, RAN 15 appears to match what the schools would use.

One more thing, see if you can add the entry for ELBA that is under S&P, there are 4 frequencies that have RAN 8 associated with them which must be what the city Police and Fire use.

Save that and then I have one more thing to try.

For those following this thread, if you specify a specific RAN, the scanner or receiver will on let traffic using that RAN be heard on the scanner, other RAN numbers are ignored. If you want all traffic on the frequency or trunk to come thru, don't specify a RAN number.

ok.side note.. no LCN on the new Ran 9 you had me add, does that matter?

Not sure if it matter but since it is easy to manual add them, I would take the time to do that, better safe than sorry, and not have something work. Do it for both ones you added to S&P.

Looks good let's go for it....

Have you updated the database in Sentinel anytime in the last few weeks? If not, you probably should do that before writing to the scanner.

Here is the last thing I would like for you to do,

Make sure the batteries in the scanner are good, don't want it to power off while being written to it.

When you hook the scanner to the computer and click on Write To Scanner, a box pops up to verify the name of your scanner BUT there are also two other boxes on the screen. One says FORCE WRITE FULL DATABASE and the other says ERASE FAVORITES ON SCANNER.

Put a check mark in both boxes. By clearing all favorites that might be on the scanner, you will now know only what you have just edit is what is going to the scanner.
