@jjl0412 - Millam just confirmed the frequencies for the truck systems are the ones that you are using. So the problem is not likely a frequency problem. I think the problem might be a TGID problem.

If you look in the Sentinel Database under Alabama, Coffee County - for the City of Enterprise Public Service Trunk System, it shows the following TGID are in use:

Fire Dispatch - TGID of 2421 (which you have confirmed because you have received traffic on it)
Police Dispatch - TGID of 1 (which you haven't received any traffic)
EMS Dispatch - TGID of 2500 (which you have confirmed because you have received traffic on it)
Services - TGID of 21 (which you don't have in your favorites plus it is a Public Works)
Services - TGID of 105 (which you don't have in your favorites plus it is a Public Works)

By default, the scanner ONLY scans for TGID entries that are defined in your favorites list. It ignores all other TGID traffic that it sees and thus you don't hear it. The terminology for that method is call SCAN-ID.

What I want you to do, it put your scanner in SEARCH-ID mode, by doing that, the scanner will stop on all traffic on the the City of Entr Trunk system and you will hear it regardless of what the TGID is. That is the way you find unknown TGID entries/traffic. Hopefully this will find the Entr Police.

To put the scanner in SEARCH-ID mode for this trunk system only,

Go into your favorites list, and click on the entry in the left column named "City of Enterprise Public System"

You should get a box that looks something like this;

D6031D43-E374-4E6B-A949-BD223373FF54_1_201_a.jpeg

Click on the tab called OPTIONS, then click on the ID:Search, change it to ON

That will turn on the search part. Save everything, and write everything to the scanner and click on erase favorites in scanner.

They try it. Each time the scanner stops on the City of Enterprise system, quickly look at the bottom to see what TGID it just found AND if that sounds like Enterprise PD, write down the TGID. IF you can push the HOLD button and get a picture that would be nice.

Let it run for a while and see if it keeps stopping on something you think is Enterprise PD to see if the same TGID is coming up.

If it stops on Enterprise Fire, it might not in Search Mode say that it found FD, but the TGID should still match 2421. I don't know whether it will stop on traffic that is defined as Public Works but I am guessing it will because it is just looking for TGID and may not care what service type they are associated with. I guess it would be nice if it does, you could then confirm the TGID of 21 and 105 for service.

Let us know what happens.

Dudley I think that is what you said in entry #142, correct? Incorrect entry into the RR database, maybe.

Yes, they will not hear the PD if it really is 2401 on a Uniden scanner in SCAN-ID mode, that is why I want @jjl0412 to go into SEARCH-ID mode.

Whoever entered the info into RR database may have used what was planned but when they really moved to it, they used something else. It appears that the database for that entry hasn’t been updated for almost 2 years. The last update for that system shows January 17, 2019.

The RR database had the wrong RAN number for the trunk frequencies ( which @jjl0412 has already updated in his scanner to be 9 which works) plus the TGID for PD is basically unknown or not confirmed.

I've got a TRX-2 on the way and I am learning a lot before it gets here. I'll work
on the S & P TG's that I can verify and get them in the RR database. May take a while.

I submitted the update to the RR database to get Enterprise PD Dispatch TG changed from 1 to 2401, maybe this
will eventually clear up this mess with the Enterprise police department. I use Software Defined Radio's so this has
not been a problem that I have had to deal with. But I like to solve problems and hunt for unknown signals.

Member 4dot2 who lives in Ozark says he can hear Entr PD and he is 30 miles away. He is using a Whistler TRX-1 with an outside antenna. I have never used a Whistler scanner so I am not sure how they scan trunk systems

Am I correctly reading you say you have confirmed 2401 is correct because you are hearing it on that TGID on your SDR radio? If so, @jjl0412 should see that TGID when he is in SEARCH-ID mode and thus have a second confirmation.

Yea its been 2401 ever since they moved over to S & P network, can't remember what it was before, probably
1, right? I am buying a Whistler TRX-2 and will have it all figured out I hope. You put wildcard in for TGID and it
will stop on any transmission regardless of TGID. I am gonna let DSDPlus run all day and see what TG's I have and
see if any of them are not in the RR database. Lunch is ready, bye.

Mil, thanks for the info. Uniden scanners don’t have a wildcard option. One more thing in the RR database needs updated. The RAN numbers for the frequencies stored as part of S&P have the correct RAN of 9 but the entry for the frequencies stored as part of the City of Enterprise Trunk system have the correct frequencies but the wrong RAN number. It shows 1 instead of the correct 9. When you use Sentinel to program a Uniden scanner, it is picking up the set with RAN of 1 instead of 9. Can you submit that update also? It needs to come from someone who lives in Alabama instead of Kentucky.

Picture number 5 in post number 40 shows what they looked like prior to @jjl0412 updating them in the database on his computer which obviously doesn’t get sent to the online RR database. Once he edited that to be 9, then he started hearing stuff on the City of Entr Trunk system.

Picture Number 1 in post 95 shows what they looked like after the update.

To put the scanner in SEARCH-ID mode for this trunk system only,

Go into your favorites list, and click on the entry in the left column named "City of Enterprise Public System"

You should get a box that looks something like this;

View attachment 97236

I guess it would be nice if it does, you could then confirm the TGID of 21 and 105 for service.

Let us know what happens.
After about an hour of monitoring so far, the the following 2 are the only ones not already identified: UNK-2300-RAN9(Dispatch?) and UNK-2401-RAN9 (PD?.) Still monitoring TGID. What really gets me no traffic from police on traffic stops or any kind of disturbances or coffee breaks at all. Even in Daleville, Dale county. Use to hear PD traffic all the time. What are they using..walkie talkies? btw: I have the BCT15x set to Dale and Coffee counties. All fw updated and latest freqs from RR. other than HP, BCT15, some Daleville PD dispatch and occasional Dale county Sheriff, is basically quiet. Currently, since we are concentrating on Eprise traffic, Coffee county is the only Favorites List avtive in BCD436, using Centerfire discone antenna.

In the above post by Millam, he is saying he has confirmed that 2401 is the Entr PD, but who knows what 2300 is, but maybe that it is a second talk channel that the Entr PD can use for car to car talk.

I think you should stay in SEARCH-ID mode the rest of the day and see what comes up. It is easy to get back to SCAN-ID by updating stuff in Sentinel. At that time you obviously want to change Enterprise PD from 1 to 2401, but there may be other things to add.

I was just typing in when you popped up. 2300 is Coffee county Sherriff, Elba, New Brockton and Kinston I think, everybody
but Enterprise in Coffee county. The 2401 is Enterprise of course. I think everybody uses cells now instead of radios for the small stuff, maybe
wrong. I don't hear traffic like it was years ago. 2500 is Enterprise Rescue Inc. ambulance out of Enterprise and Elba. Some businesses
but I haven't seen them either. I'll keep looking.

Not to get too far off topic. Any suggestions for an antenna i can use inside home for my BVD4376? Don't really care about reaching beyond maybe 15-20 miles. With the Coffee and Dale counties being listening area, home circle is outside Ft Rucker, Enterprise gate on Rucker Blvd, Eprise.
