What I find interesting - and it may have been someone who doesn't understand this well - is that it says it will decode Phase I and II. Yet a simplex Phase II frequency simply doesn't exist (as far as I understand it), at least not yet. It almost certainly won't be a trunktracker.

They may be holding back because they got badly burned on the DV10, which was an Yaesu/AOR joint venture. It's still on Universal's website, but it's marked as currently not in stock. They may not want to take another chance just yet....Mike

The AR-DV10 specs (at least in some places) describe all these Modes available:

10 Digital Modes : TETRA, P25(Phase 1+2), DMR, Mototrbo, dPMR ,NXDN, D-STAR, Alinco, Yaesu

As I understand it the DV10 cannot receive P25 Phase2.

Not that AOR could possibly have made the slightest error in their AR-DV10 description, or that of the proposed 5700D.

It would be as unlikely as them releasing a Handheld where frequencies drifted with temperature (sigh).

I have seen this posted on the Universal Radio site for a long time

No movement or new information until this

Dated 9-5 2019 is says this

  • AR5700D Digital Communications Receiver (Release end of 2019. Details will be published at
  • www.aorja.com once available.)

So will we really see this radio this year ?

I think the AR5700D has been about to be released for around four years now, so I'm not holding my breath.
