I may have forgotten to ask this, but do you have Talkgroups programmed, or is the system in ID Search mode? I think I remember you mentioning it's in ID Search mode because you do not know what TGs are active in your area.

It seems like the 325P2 is failing to trunk track properly, as you mentioned. @JoeBearcat or someone at uniden would have to look into this further.
That's correct. I have just a couple talkgroups programmed, but the scanner is set to ID Search.

On my BCD325P2 I’ve programmed each frequency of the 2 DMR Tier-III sites that are “local” for me, as individual “sites” in a Mototrbo System I’ve created.
One site has 2 freqs and the other has 3 freqs, so I have 5 “sites” in this System.
No problems tracking a dozen or so TG with this approach for a Tier-III dmr system on my ‘325P2.

It very likely depends on the system and the issues might be with the brand of components or perhaps options used.
I have Tier III systems that the 325P2/996P2 work on and others that do not work.

I have seen something interesting on a new system near me. With the P2 series of scanners, Uniden kept the Control Channel Only option for searching (removed from SDS scanners). If I use the Control Channel Only on this System/Site that DSDPlus has as TIIIStd, L1-1.2, the Uniden 996P2 shows TIII Site 0001. However, if I go to System/Site L1-1.1, the Uniden shows that is sees a control channel with the lines but does not show any Site info. I suspect because it is confused by it trying to show Site 0000 which is not a legit site number.

If I duplicate this with a TIII CAP MAX site, DSDPlus is H3-104 where Uniden shows NET 03 S0104. The Uniden follows this system properly

Yes, all the voice traffic comes through perfectly in DSDPlus. I have a very good signal there, and my BCD325P2 displays full bars. Just using a real generic telescopic antenna that came with the SDR, and I have used both an old Radioshack antenna and Remtronix 800B for the Uniden. I can see "DT3" in the bottom right corner when holding on a talkgroup, so I'm positive it's not a reception issue.

@JoeBearcat , hopefully, this can be looked into and resolved in a firmware update in the future if this really is an issue with the BCD325P2 itself, which I'm reasonably sure it is after some research.

Is only the 325 and 996 involved?

Can you clarify that? Is this a workaround or are we talking about two different system types?

Thanks for the response. I don't know that for sure, as I own only a BCD325P2, but I've only ever seen this issue reported with the BCD325P2 and BCD996P2 on the Radio Reference forums. Multiple users reported that the Capacity Max systems track fine on their SDS100 and BCD436HP, while the 325P2 is very inconsistent or does not track at all (and in my case it does not track at all).

two different systems. I was pointing out that all TIII systems cannot be treated the same.

Also, happy to send off dump files from any of the scanners that will do it. I have 996P2. 325P2, and SDS200 (if that does it). PM for contact info if you would like.

Here is a procedure for generating a log file but it is only for scanners with SD cards.

The Hytera TIII systems in my area do not trunktrack even with the new update. Using 996P2 and 325P2 with updated firmware. Using the CC Dump, I can pick out the talkgroups and radios but the radio shows nothing (except what may be an incorrect System ID and Site ID)
