3rd week of January for this radio, with the handheld coming out a week or two after that.

I'm interested if the third week is from Uniden to distributers or shipping from retailers to customers. If it's the first part that could add another week until retailers receive them to ship out.

Somewhere in this room. Right now, you're very col
UPMan would have to chime in for the "official word" but in my mind, the only firm date he would have would be the date the radios ship to distributors. Once it arrives at the distributor, it's up to them how quickly those radios make it out to stores and then it's up to the stores themselves to get them out to the customers.

I'm pretty much counting on not having the new scanner in my hands until next month sometime.

If they can do it the Apple way, they would FedEx the radios directly from the warehouse to the actual stores for immediate dissemination. If so, ScannerMaster and the like could simply take them out of the crate and stick them into a ready-waiting box with my name and address on it with a label already printed since I have been charged already. No need for waiting... but that's just me dreaming I am sure :p

You could always hop a flight to Boston (well not at the moment due to weather, but in a day or two) and go camp out at the Scanner Master store till your scanner shows up. ;) That way you could make sure you get the very first one that arrives.

Nah, that would bring the cost way too high :p

Thank you hiegtx

There is a separate version of Sentinel for the new scanners.

That is the subject of this lengthy thread.

However, you can export your current HP-1 Favorites lists into *.hpe files, then those will import directly into the x36HP Sentinel program. Then, just edit to add quick keys for the Favorites lists, Systems, Departments, and Sites, as well as Number Tags and Start-up KEYS IF YOU SO DESIRE.

I did find that out after I looked into it.

I got her on deck, waitin for that new unit. ;)

As for the "import" from the HP program, that's something I hope won't be too hard for me to figure out!

I think anyone could do it. In Sentinel, click FILE then EXPORT TO HPE FILE, go through the process selecting the filename and all, then in the x36 Sentinel, select FILE, then IMPORT FROM HPE FILE, and navigate to where you saved the HPE file, select it, and again complete the process.

The above description makes it much more complicated than it actually is.

I'm certainly hoping so! ;)

If I can't figure it out when it's time I will be looking back here. ;)

Well Joe...

You were right! Yay! :)

I managed to transfer a trial file, at least it shows up there.

I'll obviously have to wait and see if it actually works, AND remember when it comes time. ;)

The only thing, is there a way to "select all"? Or do you have to do them all separately?

Thanks again

As gonzalu says above, just one at a time. How many favorite lists do you have?

If you plan to make changes to them between now and when you program your x36 for the first time, it might be wise to hold off on doing the export/import (unless you want practice doing that, and adding the x36-specific data bits like quick keys etc). Otherwise you will have to maintain your favorites list in HP1 Sentinel and again separately in x36 Sentinel (or, export and import every time you make a change).

Once I got the hang of the new data, I set x36 Sentinel aside and won't be doing anything with it again until I get my new radio. I spend so much time fiddling with my favorites lists that I would be forever duplicating the changes into both copies of Sentinel (and would probably lose track of what's updated in what copy).

When you say how many fav lists, are you talking about the "subgroups"?

I must have done it wrong because I didn't load all of the list, just part of it apparently.

You can export the entire favorites list from Sentinel. When you select the export function, it first asks you to choose a favorites list. Once you choose it, it then asks you to choose which systems to include (in the export). On that page, you CAN "select all" and have it include all the systems in that favorites list in the exported file. You don't have to export systems individually from your favorites lists - just export the entire favorites list, and repeat that for however many favorites lists you have (I have 3).

If you look at my shack profile at my Tahoe install, having the knob on the right side for me allowed me to see the display while operating it. Not everyone's installs are the same. Now that it's on the left I'll have to train myself like I did with my 996xt. Yes the display will be blocked but it's not a deal breaker. I will also have to learn the the button placement. The new capabilities make up for the control placement.

Nice install but I like the C130 PIX also.

Can you change the individual talkgroup names, or, do you have to keep the name given in RR?

You can move them to a Favorites List and do anything you want...

Time to sell the R75

After reading all the hype about this scanner, I think it is time to sell the Icom R75 to fund the new scanner.Wish me luck, and I can't wait to try this one out!

Once you have them saved as a favorite, you can edit the names to your heart's content. Press CTRL 2 and select the favorites list that you want to edit, or click on Edit then Edit Favorites List and select the favorites list that you want to edit.
