I have a model number Bf-f8hp

I have successfully programmed some of the channels for amateur use. But Ive run into a goofy problem. I program the radio in the vfo and it works fine through local repeaters. But when I try to transfer from the VFO to memories the input for repeater becomes the output in the radio the output of the repeater becomes the input. In other words The frequencies are coming out backwards . I wonder if it’s operator error on my part or there’s a problem with the radio. Has anybody else experienced this ?.

The following link are the instructions

I have no idea what is going on with your radio but if you post this in the "Budget and Entry Level Transceivers" section you'll probably get more help since your radio isn't a scanner, it's a low-cost Ham radio. You can click on the little red triangle in the upper right corner to report it and have one of the moderaters move it to the appropriate section.

Most hams are only used to programming Japanese ham rigs that store the offset directly from VFO to memory and don't understand how Baofeng and other CCRs work. You can't transfer setting back and forth between VFOs and memory channels. I didn't read your link closesly but it appears to have bad information.

Forget the offset. It only works in VFO mode and makes programming more complicated.

Fisrt enter the the receive frequency and tone in the VFO and save it to an EMPTY memory channel.

Then enter the transmit frequency and tone in the VFO and save it to the SAME memory channel.

Then remember you CANNOT change the receive frequency or tone in that memory channel again unless you DELETE it. Any further changes will only change the TRANSMIT frequency.
