I also believe that scanner is only Phase 1 capable. So SOL on everything that’s Phase 2(assuming all TG’s on the system).
I'm getting that, too. It seems they used to drop the transmit PL while the tones transmitted so that they weren't annoying but now the PL is being transmitted. I hope this is temporary because it is annoying and causes my other half to complain. I used to live in Bucks County where they do not mask the tones and when I came to Burlington it was like a breath of fresh air.
Oh I see. I'm used to hearing the tones. With my new SDS I wasn't hearing the tones til Policefreak talked me thru opening it back up.

Yep everyone is correct, your rebranded GRE scanner, a classic in its day did very well with the old 500 megahertz type II smartzone system but it will not work on the new P2 tdma simulcast system.
All police are encrypted but fire and EMS will be in the clear.
So, how did you unmute them? I'll just do the opposite.

Hold on F-1. To do so press the CHANNEL button.
Press E/YES button. Highlight EDIT CURRENT CHANNEL and press E/YES. Highlight SET AUDIO TYPE and press E/YES. Highlight ALL and press E/YES. Press the left unmarked key below the screen (usually SYSTEM key) to resume.
See if this works for ya.
Am hearing a one sided conversation on 3403 this morning. Any idea who uses the Interior channels?

Sounds like a traffic detail if I'm not mistaken.
I'm hearing both sides? Pretty sure it is a traffic detail...also can anyone figure out what the heck TGID 3118 is? They're giving water temps of all things.
Is tag 3118 in the clear no Encryption on the tag

Sorry for the delay. Unfortunately you may have discovered that even while following the inverse of rrpratt's instructions you cannot get rid of the tones. The station tones are now also transmitting the PL Tone 127.3 along with the voice dispatch. So theres no longer a way to just get the voice dispatch without the tones. This is likely to do with the F-1 patch being set up on the new 700 system.
I guarantee this is to allow proper operation for those deaprtments that might want to start using Unication pagers.
Stupid thing is the tones are loud, clear (even down LBI) and about 50% louder than the voice transmission that's always staticy (even in county).
So to keep the neighbors from complaining and me from jumping out of my seat I have to offset the volume to the point I barely hear the voice.
