This forum has been rather quiet lately. I've noticed that the FG channels are no improvement from the old. Locals say the same. I'd like to know why the F1 channel is not patched on to it's assigned TG.
I have experienced the SJNet channel being kind of decent when dealing with air medical being able to hear both sides.
Don't really know the agreements between Camden County and Burlington, but frequently can hear Camden County on Response 5 and 6. An occasional Palmyra and Pennsauken thing or a Cherry Hill and Maple Shade thing. But, it's not uncommon to hear Camden County on its own. Such as today a thing with the 76ers thing in Camden by itself.
Also, I was in North Hanover two today and reception was great through the talk groups with F1 dispatch with much static.

Doesn't each FD and PD in the county have someone designated as a subject matter expert for the new radio system and equipment? If not, call these guys and gals, they should have answers for you.

That's a very good question considering Camden County does it
Yeppers, SPEN 1, it's still a very vital frequency in New Jersey and fairly active. Burlington County regularly put out alerts that were rebroadcasted on countywide on the TRS system.

Even neighboring Mercer County who has their own countywide alert system on 453.225, pl103.5 and are regularly active, also rebroadcast on SPEN 1.

I guess it's one thing to be secret squirrels but to keep real time crime events as they happen from the state police and neighboring counties, especially Bucks until multiple phone calls can be made wasting valuable minutes is okay LOL. Whatever.

I believe I just heard Burlington County radio repair testing SPEN 1 ???. I barely caught it. I have 2 3 and 4 locked out so if they're testing them I didn't hear it. SPEN 2 is the national emergency police frequency 155.475 csq. That is still used for Chopper communication with neighboring counties at times.

Any reason as to why Response 1 isn't utilized? I know the medics were using that as their talkgroup to dispatch units to calls until they moved over to their own talkgroup but so far calls seem to get dispatched to Response 2 first.

Response 1 is used as a hailing talkgroup. Not assigned for general use. Think of it as the old VHF F7 repeated channel in days of old. So Response 2 is the first working group.

Response 1 is the "home channel". Units that finish an assignment and are returning to quarters switch to and remain on R1 in case the county needs to hail them for another assignment, they come upon an assignment that needs to be called in, etc. When on an assignment they use the assigned R channel they were given

Some good news folks, SPEN 1 is now putting out alerts in Burlington County loud and clear preceded by a tone. Just had a stolen car in Edgewater Park with the description of the actor, appears to be a rebroadcast of countywide 5 but in the clear. Way to go BURCO!

And you were ready to write it off lol. It was pretty clear that when the 500 sites started failing that the 700 system need to be put in service ASAP, so little pet projects like SPEN and the dispatch link were put on the back burner. I bet you dispatch comes online next!

I knew SPEN had to be some kind of oversight or fell through the cracks... glad to see it back!

Thanks for that link Dan, my last text thanking you got sent back saying it wasn't delivered so I'll do it here (y)

I do recall hearing several SPEN alerts from Burlington with audio that can barely be heard, as what happens on the 154.22 channel now. That was before the new P25 went into service.

I hope they try to fix this because it usually happens when I'm not near a radio and I cannot either turn the volume up or put the radio to my ear. Drives me cuckoo for Coco Puffs!

The only time you hear Camden County is when Burlington makes the patch for CamCo units to come in or more frequently for our units going to them. Most of the calls tend to be BLS runs so you’ll always hear their endless chatter over simple enroute and arrival transmissions. Also it tends to get ‘tuned out’ Central thus the patch will occasionally stay up longer than it needs to be.

Just heard someone doing some testing about 15 minutes ago on the new F-1 Dispatch TG. Wasn’t able to catch the identifier because I noticed too late. Wonder if progress might finally be in the works for a patch.

And that it is. Those folks chatter like crazy.
