Unlikely Valley Green will be ready anytime soon. There are a few sites along I-80 and in the Grass Valley area, but as you said everything east of Pine Hill has little to no coverage.

2024 coverage map
From this map it appears Pratt Mtn and Fremont Peak are the only sties not in the database currently.

From FCC applications VHF sites not in the database yet are;
Mount Pierce, Humboldt County
Big Valley Mtn, Lassen County
Likely Mtn, Lassen County
Cahto Peak, Mendocino County
Shaffer Mtn, Lassen County
Hatchet Mtn, Shasta County
Laughlin Ridge, Mendocino County
Horse Mtn, Humboldt County
Hoadley Peak, Shasta County
Antelope Mtn, Mono County
Cold Springs Mtn, Mendocino County
Rogers Peak, Inyo County
Cottonwood, Inyo County
Black Mtn, Lassen County
Oak Ridge, Sonoma County
Antelope Valley FS1, Mono County
Ruby Bluff, Sierra County
Mammoth Lake FS1, Mono County
Mammoth Lincoln Mtn, Mono County
Red Hill, Plumas County
June Mtn Chalet, Mono County
Peavine Ridge, Washoe County, NV
Howell Mtn, Placer County
Sugarloaf Mtn, Shasta County
Oregon Peak, Yuba County
CHP East Bristol, San Bernardino County
Slater Butte, Siskiyou County
Gunsight Peak, Siskiyou, County

I'm in Sacramento for the next few days staying near the Cal OES building. I've noticed that TG:753 "Valley Black" is operating in FDMA mode and TG:748 "Valley Gold" is operating in TDMA mode off the OES site. CHP is also using KeyID:1 which from an interoperability standpoint is probably the worst KeyID they could use. I'm guessing after they finish testing they will still be making some changes to the radio programming.

CPVE cars are FDMA only with the older EFJ mobiles.

what are "CPVE" cars?
Consolidated patrol vehicle environment. Radios, radar, mdc etc controls all built into one screen
. 1726952469788.png

Compared to the EV20 cars which break up the component interfaces. These ones are newer and have phase 2 radios in them.

Edit: The EF Johnson radios are long gone. All the patrol officers in the cris ares should have a next. The non-cris areas have apx8000’s.

The EF Johnson portables are long gone...the mobiles are not. CPVE started out with XTL2500's and were upgraded to EF Johnson 5300s CPVE cars are limited to FDMA because of this.

I checked in on my decoder up in Cloverdale recently and saw TG 753 fully big E and quite active. It had 2000006 as what seems to be a dispatcher position and moved between RIDS 15026, 15064, 15066, 15070, 15078, 15225, 15290, 15332, 15350 and 15360 quite a bit.

I'm monitoring Lukens and Santiago and logging talkgroups 24/7. Here are some as-yet-unidentified ones I have logged in the last week:

06BD - Lukens, Santiago, *Encrypted (Heavy Use)
07A0 - Lukens, *Encrypted
07F9 - Lukens, *Encrypted
0810 - Lukens, *Encrypted
0829 - Lukens, *Encrypted

We most likely won't be able to identify the encrypted ones, but there they are.

Converting to decimal, which might help for discovery:

06BD - 1725
07A0 - 1952
07F9 - 2041
0810 - 2064
0829 - 2089

Just a heads up, when the CHP Valley Division channels moved to CRIS, you could no longer hear the field units on the low-band frequencies. You would still hear the dispatcher.

Today is the first time I've turned on the low-band frequencies in a couple weeks and they're now broadcasting the field units again (you can tell however they're still talking on CRIS). I'm not sure why they turned the audio bridge on, but I'm guessing it might have to do with outside agency access.

Well if CHP Central is on CRIS, I have not heard them. Either thay are encrypted or not active. I've been monitoring Blue
Ridge and Deadwood (Madera) allday.

They are not on CRIS yet. It is just North and South Sacramento.

When they do switch over they will be encrypted.

Yes! I heard this too. :) Interestingly enough I was listening to a BOLO that went out to several nearby agencies and wondering if it was just a quirk that I could hear the mobiles.
