I'm a GMRS licensee and was in Lancaster today. I ID'd listening on a GMR channel in simplex because I wasn't aware of any published repeaters in the area. I was surprised to hear that someone had a repeater up that used "store and forward". It took signal received on the RX side 462.550 and repeated it with a courtesy tone. Kinda cool. Kinda annoying because it was also repeating the bubble pack GMRS radios. Looking for any info about this repeater or others around. I'm in the MyGMRS site and get weekly updates. I'm aware of 2 or 3 repeaters in the Johnstown area. I know of the guy that runs a couple. I know there's a GMRS section but wanting some local info or discussion.

This is likely someone's playtoy....not any official repeater that needs listed.
Actually I found out it was a simplex repeater made by Argent. They have their purpose. Granted it should be set up to ID. The range wasn't bad for what it was considering I was only using a portable.
