7016 seems to either be Rhea SO or Dayton PD, based on some locations they were talking about.

I have started logging during the day, and I am getting hits on 7007, 7017(just two), and 7022 from the same unit IDs from 7016.

I also had one hit 1477 from a unit ID that is on 5541. 5539, 5540, and 5541 are all DTF talkgroups.

You know, its confusing when you see something showing a change, with the green coloring, and when you go to check it out, the History doesn't really tell you anything except something was changed from what it was to what it was already!

The Sale Creek site, #213, was changed to show it's in Meigs County which is wrong. The Sale Creek site is located in Hamilton County, TN.
The Greentop Mnt site, #221, is in Sevier County, TN.
Here are some new groups I've logged:
1443 Hamilton County Hazmat
5502 Bradley County EMA
5510 Bradley County Fire-Rescue
5513 Bradley County Fireground-1

I had three submissions that were recently added:

Alternate control channels added on the Madisonville and Evensville sites.
Added site 18
Callsigns added for each site that did not have a call sign.
Greentop site added.

Yep, I also got 13502 and 13509 keying up. Whoever that agency is, it sounds like they are playing with their new toys.
I'm also getting a MUCH stronger signal from the NW Georgia simulcast into Chattanooga now.

I'm only getting these hits on the Chatt P-25 site, and I haven't seen anything on the Dade Co or Ringold/Dalton/Whitfield Co area sites yet.

Do you think the P25 forum will ever be broken down to the specific site locations. The only reason I ask is because the only thing I am hearing on the system is our (Chattanooga/Hamilton Co.) system testing. There are a lot of ID's showing up during the testing. The ID numbering is also different from say the spacing used by the Catoosa Co units. A lot of sequencial number and odd numbers. Just trying to understand!

Yeah, the Chattanooga 911 center sounds like it's testing a bunch of new talkgroups today. Sounds like they are testing consoles and back up radios. Talk groups from 1100's, 1400's, etc. Radio shop is busy on 1115.
The Chatt simulcast system appears to broadcast groups from Rhea, Bradley and Hamilton County's.
Once the Georgia people migrate to system there will be new groups. The group numbers for P25 will be totally different than what you get on other systems.

Talkgroups on a Motorola SmartNet or SmartZone system are assigned in multiples of 16, and then the remaining spaces in between are used for what's called a "status bit" - as an example, if talkgroup 48 was patched, it would not longer appear as 48, but instead as 51 - adding 3 indicates that this talkgroup is patched. If it were 56, this would indicate that it was encrypted (TG + 8 = encrypted).

On a pure P25 system, these status bits don't exist, thus talkgroups can be assigned to sequential numbers.

New talk groups popping up on the Chattanooga simulcast portion of the TVRCS. Hamilton County EMS main is using 1165, sounds like it's simulcast from the analog system. Heard Walker County, Ga fire & ems units on 13501. 13502, 13509 people testing radios. Hearing testing on groups in the 1100, 1400 and 1500 range. Radio techs active on 1115.

RE: Weak data channel on Chattanooga site

Hello fellow techmen. I am fixated in the UTC Fortwood area of town. I have a 800 Yagi pointing toward Lookout Mtn and a dipole facing east. The issue here is, I am blasting on the analog system, with full quieting. But barely getting 1 bar on the S-meter, with hit and miss conversation during testing. I even amped the line to see if I could pull, with no success. So my question is, What can I do to get a better grab on the control channel of the TVR site?
Thanks in advance. ;)

There seems to be an issue with signal strength from either the Lookout Mnt. or Signal Mnt. sites. For some time now the TVRS has been very weak from north Chattanooga, through Red Bank, Rivermont up into Hixson. Basically, the foot of Signal Mnt. On the east side of town and county it's full bars from the White Oak and Collegdale sites. There are places in north Chatt going up Hixson Pike the control channel is non-existant while the analog system smokes with full bars. In Hixson, the Hwy 153 area around Highway 27 is also bad. Maybe Lookout and Signal Mnts are not at full power?

BG, thanks for your reply. I now understand why I'm getting low signalling. Do you think that the reason behind this low powered signal strength is due to preventing bleedover on the existing system? Whatever the case, I hope that the TVR system isn't finished product on the Chatt-Site. This may be a hard sale for public safety. Thanks again.
