Ok. Around 3:45 PM I picked up some sort of excort on 1297. It could have been some sort of law enforcement of somesort going from I-24 to I-27, to Hwy-153 for something. Someone addressed someone as Captain. No ideal of who it is at this point. Going to listen for awhile longer! Later there was a reference to an "Alpha" car and other City assistance.

Ok, Got it! Mutual Aid 2

I'm in Chattanooga for a couple of days and I cannot get over how clear the transmissions are on some of the digital talkgroups here compared to the system in Memphis.

Anyone know why it's so much clearer?

If I'm not mistaken, the Memphis system is mixed mode, 3600 baud system. The TVRCS here is 9600 baud P25 that uses much more updated hardware/software. It also depends on what version of firmware is programmed into radios. New firmware sounds much better.

Wonder if the the system they mention in this article is part of the Tennessee Valley system?

Hey TVR1, I see that you are online, can you give us any updates? I know we all love chasing talkgroups, but anyway that you could add any info to the wiki-I know it is wishful thinking but I had to ask;)

Talkgroup 1223

Has anyone figured out talkgroup 1223? It's not in the Wiki but has been active recently.

Locations appear to be in the Collegdale area but I need to listen more. I notice the database has a channel 2 for Collegedale - maybe this is channel 1?????

question on signal

I was wandering if with the new system would you be able to listen clearly on the scanner in Cleveland Tennessee? Any help with this would be great. Also I am looking for the codes that are used and I am having a hard time finding all of them. I hear different signals and can not locate all the signal codes.

This system can be clearly heard from north Georgia, all the way to Sevierville, you just have to be listening to the correct site for your location. I am in Athens and I can pick up the Evensville, No Pone, Lenior City, Madisonville, Starr Mountain, Oswald Dome, north Bradley, and Roane sites, and occasionally Sale Creek. You just have to have a digital scanner, Digital Scanner Comparison Chart - The RadioReference Wiki

Someone was kind enough to let me know if you divide the talkgroup id from the Chattanooga/Hamilton County Public Safety Trunking System, Chattanooga, Multi-State - Scanner Frequencies system, you get the ID for the Tennessee Valley Regional Telecommunications System Trunking System, Varies, Multi-State - Scanner Frequencies

So 1223 * 16 = 19568, which is Hamilton County Sheriffs Department East Dispatch.

This only appears to work for Hamilton County users, not Bradley or Catoosa.

Click 23 you are correct. Remember, as TVR1 explained some time ago, the Chattanooga/Hamilton County SmartZone mixed mode system is now a site of the TVRCS just like Oswald Dome, Evensville, or the NW Georgia simulcast cell are sites.
As you noted, you can basically take the list of talkgroups on the Chatt/HamCo system, divide them all by 16, and get the talk group IDz for the TVRCS.
This does indeed work for the Catoosa County groups. On the Chatt system Catoosa SO is 33104, and on TVRCS it's 2069.
But outside Hamilton & Catoosa counties the group numbering is all new.

The "x16" thing works for all of the analog talkgroups previously published, according to everything I have in my database. The new "15xx" id's relate to the analog Catoosa Co items, and the "20xx" id's relate to the digital ID's shown in the Chattanooga system setup.

However that leaves some questions regarding a few of the assigned descriptions to a few of the items already listed! Hum!

However I usually match the "digital" conversation to analog conversation to make my identifications 99.9% of the time! I scan both the new digital site and the analog site at the same time, which helps in proper identifications.

I have submitted updated descriptions for a few of them where it makes sense, ie, Alpha/Baker/Charlie Dispatch is actually Adam Dispatch. Alpha, Baker, and Charlie are PD zones, all dispatched on the Adam Channel.

There is one that has me a bit confused, 1443 listed as HazMat. 1443*16=23088 which is listed on the Chattanooga system as TEMA. This could be explained by who ever found it heard TEMA responding to some sort of HazMat call.

What about the site info:

2-022 2-16 Murfreesboro (TN-Rutherford) 769.18125c
2-022 2-16 Lenior City (TN-Loudon) 770.35625c 771.28125 771.70625 772.40625 773.20625

These are two different areas with the same "site" number info.
