Good catch on Cleveland fire, I was wondering who that was.
Hearing a lot of users testing radio coverage on talkgroup 1, like Dade County 911 and Rhea County SO units riding around up there. There was also someone in Wartburg, who I can only assume was affiliating with the TDOC system up that way. The wide area coverage on the system is amazing.

Bradley Fire was testing today. Cheif 1 was testing known dead sites for their VHF and it was clear with the new system. Bradley SO will be getting the radios from the fire dept and testing. Seems like they said this Thursday or so and test for 2 - 3 days on the patrol units.
I was getting the same ID as the Cleve Fire was using 1169. Did anyone else find any different?

Olin Chemical had a emergency test drill today. Bradley EMA and Fire was testing the radios out there. It seems that EMA rooster got his feathers ruffled and didnt want to play anymore because Olin didnt want to play fair so he pulled the County people out and let them play by them self..

Those were teams driving around and giving radio tests of their mobile coverage. They worked in grids, or little geographic squares kinda like lat-long.
As for the Bradley County drill, that's not the first time that county's emergency officials stamped their feet and pouted! Remember the big stink on TV when a trooper's dash-cam at an accident scene caught Bradley fire guys standing around a patient refusing to help EMS people carry up hill to an ambulance? There are way too many childish turf battles. Nirvana has a song called "Territorial Pissings" that fits Bradley County quite nicely!

After hearing all the testing going on today I heard Roane County 911 chime in, saying their tower was on the air on "site trunking." Anybody around that area able to scan the 769-775Mhz range and find the control channel and site ID number? There's nothing in the FCC file for this.
Speaking of which, the Starr Mnt. site (McMinn Co.) still is not licensed, or at least nothing is showing on the FCC site for 771.63125MHz (the control channel).
There are supposed to be sites near Sevierville and around Oak Ridge too, so if anybody is around there could you also scan 769-775 for new control channels?
Happy hunting,
BG..

Roosevelt Mountain is the Roane County site, but only a microwave listing in the FCC database so far for that location.

I cannot wait until I get my BCD396XT for Christmas, and I might get it a bit early. From here in Athens I should be able to pick up the North Bradley, Oswald Dome, Starr Mountain, No Pone Ridge, and Madisonville sites.

The ROOSTER;Troy Spence, "chairman of the Tennessee Valley Regional Communications Committee".
seems like he stated in an earlier news paper release that an 800 system wouldnt be the thing for Bradley County. Anyway They were talking about the Bradley SO getting the radios from the Bradley Fire and let the patrol division test the radios, I havent heard the SO using them yet.

Bradley EMA and Fire Chief had some new radios programmed. They also were talking about having DISASTER 1 thru 5 Programed in from Chatt radio shop soon. So some more new testing to come....

Found a new site on the air today.
Control channel 769.08125, site ID is 02A5h-230.
Could this be the new site in Roane County? Don't have a clue where this is.
The frequency is not licensed to anyone according to FCC records on line.
Also, seems like talkgroup 1 is being used by public safety agencies testing in their counties, while 1115 sounds like it's being used for radio techs building out system.
Bradley County/Cleveland fire likes to use 1169 for testing now.
While fishing around in the FCC data base I saw some attachments to some of the currently licensed 700MHz sites that say the state of Tennessee is in the process of getting licenses for the sites.
Hmmm...
