mike, you are failing to read what I have posted, otherwise arguing your position with obscure FEMA and interoperabilty references. Get off your soapbox and read what has been presented.

P25 systems are orchestrated by a zone controller, which comprises the logic and control of "a system." we track trunked radio systems in the database. The higher, overreaching participant in this system is the consortium, not Cobb County.

That's it man, boil it down... I don't care if Cobb county is leasing, renting, or loaning space to the higher level entity - it is all the same system, as indicated by the same system id and wacn.

Period. End of story.

If this is the logic applied, you should also combine the MARTA, City of Atlanta, and Deklab county P25 systems into the one site as well. Since they have all put resources and personal into the project.

Additionally, one pont that was not made is the Cobb county can NOT put radios on this system, without the authority of the UASI board and being assignd WIDE Area id's and support. THE USAI system is a closed system, while the COBB system is open to an Municipal agency in the County that wants to be part of the Cobb system and signs the intergovermental agreement with Cobb County. an pays the usable fees.

The Cobb system is the Cobb system, and they have loaned UASI the use of a space on the existing SmartZone controller, the same way a SWAT team or Fire Engine might be loaned as part of an Interagency auto aid agreement..

BUT it's yor sand box..

Good point, if it were a UASI system as incorrectly stated on here, then we (Wellstar Health System) would not have as many talkgroups and radios on the system as we do (and always have on the old analog Smartnet II system), nor would any of the other private non-government users such as Emory Adventist Hospital, Cumberland Mall Security, or Life University- all of which operate TG's and radios exclusively on the COBB DTRS.

Not trying to but heads, but some of us live here in Cobb county, and are quite a bit more familiar with the politics behind it (some of us attended those town hall meetings back in 2005, in fact the MDJ mis-quoted me in an interview I gave on the steps of 100 Cherokee Street), and it is clear that our system- while it may have some commonality- is still very much separately controlled and administrated (maybe someone should call Tracy Roberts and ask her who runs it? hint hint...)

I have to disagree. You don't live in Cobb county, you were not here as far as I am aware during the process to procure the system, you are not, nor have been a Cobb county employee or contractor, so how can you really state based on a system ID and WACN that our system, paid for solely by Cobb county taxpayer dollars, is indeed something other than what many have tried (in vain) to convince the powers that be to rename the system. If the sole purpose of the database is to track trunking systems, than it defeats the purpose if systems are not identified by their primary place of use and location.
The system is NOT interconnected as some have claimed, if that were the case, there would be site-to-site roaming and wide areas ID's in use- which there are not.

This system was solely purchased by Cobb county to replace our existing (and still working) Smartnet analog system. The zone controller was purchased by Cobb county and made available as a mutual aid resource to other agencies, it is important to know who paid for it because this demonstrates ownership, not some system ID or WACN as you seem to be hung up on.

Cobb hits halfway point in SPLOST | ajc.com

I am willing to bet that if Mrs. Roberts (from Cobb county 911, radio systems manager) or Rocky Moore (if you can find him) got on here and posted, some would still try to argue with them too (what do they know, right?) Nowhere in any documents on the public record at Cobb county refer to us receiving any funding from anywhere else for OUR new radio system than Cobb county taxpayers. Show me where this is wrong and I'll back off. So let me get this right Lindsay, would you argue that an automobile is yours if the title is not in your name? Just because you let someone else drive it, doesn't make it theirs. They can customize it all day long, but the bottom line is whoever paid for it and owns the title is the lawful, rightful owner.

On radioreference, if a system shares the same system ID, then they are represented in the database under the same entry, with the over reaching entity comprising of an identifying name for the radioreference trunked system entry.

I am closing this thread... Since I've explained 3 times about the position of radioreference.com only to be told that since I don't live in Cobb county we are wrong. There are more important reasons for the overall community and platform that drive our decisions.

So, we are moving on, and so should you.
