DPS, including The Attorney Generals office are already using the system. Doubt they will have their own talkgroup, key is to look for the Radio IDs in the 5xxxxxx series. Usually on the DPD encrypted talkgroups.
Just curious Harold, do you have a breakdown of unit ID's on the Dallas Co. side of NTIRN? As in who is who? That's probably a serious undertaking to log an decipher all of that, but I for one am a BIG FAN of programming RID text tags on systems.

I don't have a list per se. I use Unitrunker 2 and log the IDs as they Identify themselves on the radio. Most of what I have are from the older Sites on NTIRN, but some of those have populated on the Dallas Sites. I have only just begun to identify users of the Dallas Sites. Wish I knew of a way to export them as a list.

Paper and Pen! That's what I do. Problem is like with DPS the vehicles change so 1 D 508 today will RID as 1 D 512 tomorrow. I have a lot of the RID's used on the Farmers COOP DMR system but unlike DPD or DSO those guys take the same vehicle home every night.

I guess what would be interesting would be to see (log) a group of RID's for each of the patrol divisions, All of the Rescue radios (Mobiles) and at least a general idea of Texas AG and DPS RID's where they could at least be labeled "Texas DPS" or "Texas AG". I know, that's A LOT of work. Maybe it's time to hit the IHOP at 75 and Spring Valley for a RID logging session with pancakes and gallons of coffee.

And of course, when I did a recent logging session on an unrelated project, I was parked at Microcenter, just South of there for over an hour with the computer plugging away capturing Radio ID's, Talkgroups, and the like, along with audio (I've been doing business with Microcenter since they were still a mail order house out of Ohio back in the late 80's, so I can easily spend an hour shopping there).

I took a look last night and the ID's in Unitrunker 2 are stored in a file at %appdata%\unitrunker\unitrunker.xml - that file can be opened in a text editor, although it may be a bit hard to read. I use Notepad++, and there is an XML plug in that can "Format Pretty" to make it much more readable.

I'll have to look tonight to see if I can do a quick extract of just the radio ID's (that file has all the system configs in it so it is a rather large file, so parsing out the file should be able to be automated, I'm just a bit rusty on my XML coding skills).

For the SWR ops channels, i can confirm Ops 6 is Fire training and Ops 8 is Fireground operations. It was noted earlier that they may share the ops channels with PD and FD.. I have heard PD on Ops 1-3.

If I were going to do that manually I would set it up as an Excel spreadsheet. Then you can export it as a spreadsheet a PDF or another formats.

Just a gentle question, but is the new trunked system fully operational yet?

Thank you
I'd say it's fully operational. However, not all users may be 100% transitioned to it. There are still some users that are patched to their legacy VHF/UHF conventional channels.

I think the system is fully operational. But I think there is a lot more training to take place, in months to come, before users like DFR start to utilize all the talkgroups and features available to them. Same for DPD and other Law Enforcement, they need to do some training on the Interop abilities of the system. Patience Grasshopper.

I wonder if Balch springs will join this system , or stay on the conventional side ?
Balch Springs is no longer on the conventional side. They are on their own P25 Phase 2 trunking system.
I sent a memo out but my TPS report did not have a cover sheet.

I'm still hearing a little DPD on the UHF. Northeast specifically, I wonder if they're experiencing coverage issues or if the radio shop is so back logged they just haven't moved everyone over?

I just reprogrammed my SDS200 in the truck with the new system. On the east side of Kaufman County I'm hearing DFD and DPD like they're next door. So far I've heard Northeast, Southeast, and Southwest. Heard some traffic on DFD but didn't catch what channel it was on. It was as clear as Kaufman County on the tower a mile away from me. No static.
Now I don't have to listen to the pathetic patch on Northeast when I go over there.

Forgive this question, I will be in Dallas this coming weekend, I want to make sure I got the correct system programmed to list to DFD/DPD only.

I need this one and just layer 1, correct?
