Until those rubber tracks melt.Whoa!!! That is awesome!!
Was wondering when this would happen. Have noticed less and less traffic on their NCTCOG talkgroups recently.Looks like Cockrell Hill may have moved over today. 36517, 36518, 36519, and 36520. My bet would be the first two are police (encrypted) and the second 2 fire. Not enough traffic yet to tell.
These are the talkgroups I was referring to in my last post about not having hearing CTP units on the Dallas/Tarrant sites. I have heard DPS units on PGBT and DNT, but none of the CTP units. There have been several crashes that should have been dispatched for the CTP, but did not hear them go out over those talkgroups, like they were on the NCTCOG system and like I have heard for PGBT/DNT units on NTIRN. Maybe I missed them. I do also find it a little odd that if they are in fact on those talkgroups, that it is not also being simulcasted on FW/Tarrant Layer 1 or 2 for better coverage, especially farther down into Johnson County.

I am seeing UIDs that were active on TGID 6200 (Cockrell PD pn the Dallas P25/NCTCOG system) are being logged now on 36517. So your guess is likely accurate. I haven't captured anything on 36518 or 36519, but the scanner may be ignoring them due to encryption.Looks like Cockrell Hill may have moved over today. 36517, 36518, 36519, and 36520. Kind of off topic but didn't want to start a new thread for a simple question. Does anyone know what the Black unmarked Ford Explorers are that Dallas PD is using? These vehicles have no markings or graphics (That I have been able to tell) and have full light bars. I've seen these units on traffic stops and responding code 3 to calls with marked DPD units, just not sure if these units are a special division or what the purpose is.
I never thought of that. Good thinking. Thanks for replying.possibly tactical team or SWAT vehicles. Not sure Dallas PD protocol, some departments, SWAT is a "collateral duty" and members work regular patrol shifts, in their normal uniform, and will "change out" when a SWAT call is underway. Other departments, SWAT is a full time assignment and if "things are slow" the members may go "out on the street" and help patrol with stuff.
Did Ford change their policy on not selling Interceptors to DPD? After that set up test a few years back Ford stated that they would not sell any Interceptors to DPD. That's why DPD has ran Impalas and Chargers from 2004 and up.Kind of off topic but didn't want to start a new thread for a simple question. I wasn't aware there was an issue with Ford and DPD. Must have been before my time here. I know it has been a while but I can confirm hearing TxDPS Troopers in Tarrant County on the NTTA talkgroups on the NTIRN Dallas Layer 1 site. Last week heard a Trooper in a chase on the Chisolm Trail Parkway. Then just tonight heard one on Law IO Call calling Fort Worth Police for assistance on a chase. He then came up on the NTTA talkgroup to talk to the Trooper in the chase. They lost visual in both chases, by the way.Was wondering when this would happen. Have noticed less and less traffic on their NCTCOG talkgroups recently.
Anyone know where TxDPS tollways went for Tarrant county? Have not seen any talkgroups on the Fort Worth sites yet, haven’t heard them on the Dallas sites and nothing on NCTCOG when crashes are dispatched on CTP.
Thanks for confirming Harold! Really surprised I still am not seeing them simulcasted on FW Layer 1 or the Johnson County layer for coverage...I know it has been a while but I can confirm hearing TxDPS Troopers in Tarrant County on the NTTA talkgroups on the NTIRN Dallas Layer 1 site. I suspect that the reason you are not hearing them on the Johnson County TGID, or on one of the Fort Worth layers, is because the troopers on the NTTA freeways are not on a regular DPS assignment. The tollway contracts with DPS, to provide enforcement on those specific roads. They don't normally work traffic on roads other than those run by NTTA. I would also hazard a guess that the dispatcher you hear for the tollway units is at the NTTA office, not the Dallas DPS Region 1 office. The tollway dispatchers make extensive use of the traffic cameras along the roads, looking for wrong way drivers, narrowing down the correct location for accidents, and looking to see where a vehicle involved in some sort of incident may have exited the tollways. Thanks for confirming Harold!
