I'm not sure what the heck is going on with DFR.
I have the Dallas "layers" on NTIRN on one of my scanners, and have it set to log & record all activity. I'm looking for new, not yet confirmed TGIDs, as well as seeing how what they have is actually being used. As I confirm non-public safety TGIDs, I then set them as avoid.
As has been discussed before, Dallas Fire Rescue has two dispatch channels set aside for Fire response, and two more designated for EMS dispatch. Plus, there are several "Tac" talkgroups, I presume for fireground traffic. But so far, we're seeing them use the two Fire Dispatch TGIDs much the same way the Uhf channels were utilized, one for fire response, the other for Rescue (EMS) units. And, instead of using one of the assigned Tac talkgroups, they have been using the EMS Dispatch Ch 2 TGID, 32004, and referring to it as 'Channel 4'.
Well, in the past few days, I've seen quite a bit of activity on TGID 32009, Tac A. But this afternoon, when it popped up on one of my other scanners, I heard something I was not expecting. A unit was calling for a wrecker for a "24 hour violation". Really?
I pulled the files for that TGID & started playing them back. Apparently, at least for now, this is being used for Parking Enforcement. Looking at the logs, this apparently started this past Friday. I've logged just under 140 hits with audio recorded. Probably, more transmissions than that are involved, but that is not the only talkgroup monitored. I looked at the UIDs, and so far, the one's that I'm seeing have not come up on any other TGID in NTIRN. I have the four designated Parking Enforcement TGIDs (33113 to 33116) set as 'Avoid', so I have not been keeping tabs on those.
