Attached is a document that describes how to decode the FCC callsign from a Motorola P25 trunking control channel. All Motorola P25 trunking systems (since the 5.0 system release) will encode the callsign on the control channel using this method, if the system owner has populated the callsign into the programming of the RF site equipment.
Motorola ASTRO25 trunked radio systems as of the 7.16 release will also send the callsign on the voice channel. With these systems, the control channel callsign is sent as a continuous background message instead of being sent every 30 minutes concurrent with the analog BSI.
