Sure will be nice hearing Chester PD again
on the Delcom side or the police unit side ?I heard the switch over announcement on the new system for sector 1. Then I heard the switch over announcement for sector 3 on the (now) old system. I have to say the old system sounded so much clearer,

Not for meI have to say the old system sounded so much clearer,
could be the placement of the microphone to the mouth - if too close will sound muffled. It takes time for the users and the listeners (us) to adjust to the different radios and analog versus digitalBoth, the new system sounds a tad robotic, a little fuzzy is the best way to describe it. Can understand what is being said no problem, but the analog was a lot crisper.
Remind me, what are you using to monitor again? Both, the new system sounds a tad robotic, a little fuzzy is the best way to describe it. Can understand what is being said no problem, but the analog was a lot crisper.

Looks like you were able to get that updated, glad your onboard. 👌Uniden SDS200 with a Cobra 4inch speaker and a Spectrumforce Wideband Antenna with mag mount and BNC.

Fire & EMS are dispatched on the same talkgroup. If you're looking to "get rid of" EMS Hail, press the Avoid key twice when the talkgroup is active and it'll avoid the talkgroup permanently but keep it in the favorites list in case you change your mind laterthen I can get rid of the EMS dispatching
See Steve and my notes hereHow do the UID’s BBB breakdown?
Probably getting used to handling the new radio - a button used to do this now that same location I am used to does something elseQuite a few emergency buttons being accidentally tripped...
Yeah that is where I am struggling .... they are using the standard vehicle call sign - say 27-21 over the radio but the RID changes based on who is using 27-21 (aka the portable radio). Fixed mobile RIDs are easier to lock down but the portables can move around between vehicles it seems. Down here in Cape May on NJICS the units use the district plus the badge number to identify over the radio in most cases - so a little easier to identify the use. Officer xys is badge number 545 so 12-545 is that officer (consistently) and that he how they identify when active.See Steve and my notes here

It will take a while but that is what makes it a hobby and not a job![]()
