Also impatiently waiting to release PayPal payments, I hope it will work soon.
The free public release that has (or had lol) been on the website for 10 years has no update mechanisms built in. If you have update mechanisms built-in, then you are using Fast Lane and already paid for it (or stole it lol). Fast Lane versions, when you fire them up, display the name/email address of the person who paid for it. And Fast Lane versions have the update mechanism. and when there are new updates, you can update using the menu system. If you have the option selected, it'll notify you when there are updates out for Fast Lane.I hope their website being updated is a sign that they'll be more proactive lol. Regardless I think I'll have to pay again for the next dsd+ update, I'm not sure how it works considering there's a dsd+ update option in the 1R menu. Like, how would it even determine you're even allowed to update? I don't recall entering any product code or anything along those lines so it isn't linked to any identity of mine?
That's neat! But if it can be stolen that easily, some sort of server check sounds like it would solve that, but I don't get why anyone would steal it to begin with, it's worth the money. I originally paid for the $10 plan, which is dsd+ updates for a year, so I'm not sure how updates will happen now that it's been over a year. I imagine I'll have to email them and purchase another year, or the $25 plan. The free public release that has (or had lol) been on the website for 10 years has no update mechanisms built in. I'm updating the website. I'm not productive at all. Just changing the theme and a little bit of content. It'll still look like an extremely bland website that nobody will want to stay on any longer than it takes to download the public release or read any news update![]()

haha fair enough! As long as the important stuff stays in tact, that's all that matters.![]()
I hope I can still continue the Fast Lane program considering I only paid $10 for the year. I sent them an email asking if they would allow me to upgrade to lifetime so fingers crossed! Now iv gotta do update checks like a crack head a million times a day to see when the new FL release comes out haha
Early Christmas gift!
The site is up and running, looks like there's a new public DSD release and supposedly a new Fast Lane version to follow. As of now, there's no update for Fast Lane yet.
and some bad news for new members wanting DSD+ Fast Lane:
"No more new memberships are being accepted. The current membership list is as large as we are willing to deal with."
That being said, it looks like the new DSD+ public release has the same features from the past fastlane release, so that's good for new members. You no longer need to purchase Fastlane to use FMP24 it seems.
Are you the Author/Owner? Sorry, I am a casual lurker...Correct. Consider the latest public release as the latest FastLane release. So everything that FL users have benefited from over the years, anyone can benefit from now with the Public Release -- and for free.
This is cool, I will share with a friend.Correct. Consider the latest public release as the latest FastLane release. So everything that FL users have benefited from over the years, anyone can benefit from now with the Public Release -- and for free.

Indeed it is an excellent software. Amazing job! Can’t help to think but where to from here? It’s already a super capable piece of software, I can’t imagine much more improvements for FL users.
Glad the public version is so updated now, hopefully this bridges the gap for users/listeners who couldn’t afford or were restricted by PayPal
The ability to record analog signals alongside digital and have them also be imported into rdio-scanner would be a dream in my eyes, but I'm not sure if that would even be possible, or if the devs would even care about doing it. I mean, the software is called "Digital Speech Decoder".Indeed it is an excellent software. Amazing job!
Hopefully it can be improved even more.
There are still quite some fixes and features that are needed. These are what I remember:
- FMPA and FMPP should be aligned with FMP24. FMPA and FMPP cannot Scan, Squelch, AM, PPM, etc., normally. FMP24 can.
- Add the option to enter known Decryption Keys (as available for DSD FME).
- Perhaps FMPA and FMPP can show a larger spectrum.
- Enable the Recording of Analog signals as well (that get a file name from the SiteLoader, same as with Digital Recordings).
- Othere people can chime in, please.
One may always dream (and ask for important improvements that are kind of already available in other programs). The ability to record analog signals alongside digital and have them also be imported into rdio-scanner would be a dream in my eyes, but I'm not sure if that would even be possible, or if the devs would even care about doing it. I'm also not sure they'd add the ability to input decryption keys, that seems to be a grey area and it might put the devs and the program in liability if someone not authorized to listen to encrypted calls happens to obtain a key to listen in and harass officials or worse. But I'm no lawyer.
Still no support for a man's radio like the IC-R8600.
