I'm using DSD+ 2.10, just got it running yesterday, wondering if there is a way to get it to record/save the frequency when doing search for DMR systems?

Thanks

With 2.5 or later, IF and ONLY IF you're using FMP24/FMPA (i.e. with a TCP link, as opposed to other programs like SDR# which only have virtual audio cables), you can use the -E flag with DSD+ and the event log automatically records the frequency associated with each voice grant. It was a really helpful addition.

So we can read people's text messages? And do you know what the Tgt and Src mean? Thanks.

I know this one hahaha
Tgt is the talk group or target
Src is source or radio id

See I'm learning!

So how does it work? If the talk group (or "Target") is XYZ and the radio ID (or "Source") is ABC, then what is actually happening here? Someone can send a text message to every radio on the talk group? I "Automatic Reporting Service" where a radio is simply telling the system it's turned on and within range? And what does the"TS>61811??Complete" mean?

How come sometimes you see group calls in the Event Log even though you don't hear anything out the speaker? If I monitor 464.5750 here in Tampa, I can see group calls on a few different talk groups, but I never actually hear anything. Usually it has a line in bright blue that tells you this is the 5/6 channel or the 1/2 channel, or whatever, which is awesome. But this one isn't doing that. And it's showing 3 different rest channels for some reason.

Question about P25 Phase 2 trunking. That is really cool how it automatically figures out all the frequencies off the control channel. It is very fast. What do the numbers in the columns "Ch" and "TDMA" mean"? It looks like its giving you a range of channels instead of just one ("0-45" or "0-129"). Are these the LCNs? In the TDMA column, what is "8-90" and how come it's not quite lined with the frequency? It looks like the line spacing is a little off. What does "scc" stand for? I'm assuming CC means control channel, but I'm not sure what "scc" is. Does the control channel use up both slots, or can another voice transmission use the same RF frequency as the control channel.

Yep. You just did in your event log.

Those seem like odd text messages. Not like what someone would type out to a friend in a cell phone text message. I wonder if that's some kind of automated deal.

Since it's a text message, I suspect the target is an individual radio or possibly some terminal software running on a PC.

Those are the OTA channel numbers. The control channel messages in the console window will be littered with them.

A TDMA channel uses only half of an RF carrier, so expect to see another TDMA channel hanging out with it at some point. They can't both line up with that frequency - they have to "share" it...

Secondary (backup) control channel.

Yes. No.

Thanks. So "0-45" is not some range like zero through forty five? "0-45" refers to one certain frequency? And do the TDMAS numbers like "8-90" have any certain meaning?

It's a good possibility that these are pre formatted status messages, not chit chat. Let's use the example of an ambulance service.

Button 1 "Enroute to scene".
Button 2 "On scene".
Button 3 "Transporting".
Button 4 "Complete"
Button 5, "Clear".

I know that the AAA system around here uses both voice and data and their trucks have a screen that contains call information and has a row of buttons. That's a lot less expensive an option than building installing full function MDTS where you can add actual free form text to the call information.

I don't know for sure if that's what you're seeing, but it's a good possibility.

Someone more familiar with Con+ can tell us if that's an option.

Whats the normal turn around time to receive a link for the fastlane software after payment. I noticed the funds have transferred but no email. I'm thinking the holiday weekend may be a factor. Reading about the newest version has me itching to test it!! I will make sure to copy the current folder as advised above!

Check your spam folder, the first time I received the last-lane, it was in spam.

This is cool. I'm seeing more. This is on 461.350 MHz in Tampa. But it looks like one long message got cut off at the right. Is there any way to make it show the whole message or do a word wrap so it doesn't get chopped off? Thanks.
