hey everyone

my first post on this site so forgive me if its in the wrong place!

i have a question/problem with DSD+, with the Output level as shown on the 'DSD Interface' plugin. I cannot get this volume level into the green .it constantly stays red and never goes green no matter how much i adjust the various volume sliders in Airspy SDR and DSD

I find that DSD+ can be a bit frustrating to setup and can be tempremental in actually putting out any decoded data and i think this output level problem may be the cause. I also get alot of 'CACH ERR' messages in the log, however some times i will get decoded voice that i can understand come out of DSD which does confuse me ,although this is only on a handful of channels

any help will be greatly appreciated,i will add some screenshots too

thanks in advance
Morgan

I always left the slider in the middle. You do have Vb Cable or Virtual Audio Cable installed?

What version of DSDPlus are you using?

PPM needs to be dead on and proper gain set. Your gain is maxed out and has AGC (Automatic Gain Control) on also. Also does not look like a valid freq. Most likely due to the PPM being off. What dongle do you have?

The box for Filter Audio needs to NOT be checked. Think that's in the audio tab of SDR#. Its better to use the FMPx tuners that come with DSDPlus depending on which version you have, public or FastLane.

hey thanks for getting back to me

i have VB-CABLE Virtual Audio Device: VB-Audio Virtual Apps

im running version 1.101 i believe

yea the frequency was not correct in the screenshot but its still the same when on the right freq. I have a 1PPM tcxo so i shouldnt have to worry about the PPM correct? I do ave the gain set high only because the signal is weak without it,which may be part of the problem! Im using a homemade airband antenna cut for 128MHz-ish although i do plan to make a 400 odd mhz antenna eventually.

got Filter Audio unchecked 👍

i have just found out that fastlane cuts out the need for a VB cable so i may give that a go,just feel like the output level dB being in the red isnt helpful to decoding! Even though it does decode well at times though feels tempremental 🤷‍♂️

High gain will bring in more noise which can hurt decoding.

If everything is in the same general direction, search our forums for Moxon. I made a few for different bands. They are directional, but work good.

FastLane does eliminate the need for cables which makes fine tuning easier because there are less variables involved.
