Let's hope so. And the media will not be issued receive only radios.

I've always wondered if that meant installing a booster/extender or repeater in every building and underground area to make it work. Or is it the software/programming side of the AFRRCS system that failed to reach those areas?

In 1974 when EPS went from a two channel VHF system to a four channel UHF system I was told I wouldn't be able to listen anymore. In 1996 when they went to the 800 MHz digital system I was told the same thing. In 2012 I was told I wouldn't be able to hear dispatch anymore as they were going to Provoice. Four years ago I was told AFRRCs was just around the corner and I couldn't listen. Today is now 2020 and they are correct. It was a great run. Guess the media will now be airing mostly Fire stories.

Hopefully you have an SDS 100 or 200 scanner, a Unication unit or DSD plus
Surprisingly my Grecom PSR-600 C is partially picking up audio from EFD on AFRRCS. (some clearly audible some scrambled)
My Pro-18 is no audio or scrambled, which I knew was going to happen.
