Freq. 169.9000 is used by the US Forest Service.
Region 8 Fire Tactical / Fireground Channel 3, Analog, with No PL or DPL unless one has been added lately.
This freq. is used quite a bit around National Forest in AL. especially during fire season.

Freq. 172.450 (P25) is used by Little River Canyon National Preserve in Dekalb County, AL.
I do not know the NAC. DPL used to be 156 when they were analog.
Park Rangers use that freq. for Law Enforcement & Park activities.
Dekalb County Dispatch talks to them some giving out BOLO's or when the Park Rangers request a tag check, etc.
There may be other areas in the state that use the same freq. I assume they have all changed to P25.
I have heard some encryption on that freq. but most all traffic heard was in the clear.

I would say def repeater output , heard base & 2 portables for 2 hours . 1 location given was Cahaba river rd. untiI had to go in a Concrete building & was quiet 3 hrs later . was prob 1st time in 4 years I'd heard in NON Enc tho.
