167.5375 has been in used quite a bit in the past two months on a stakeout in the Homewood area. Mostly encrypted but in the clear every once and a while.

Also her/heard the same with 168.925 & hres another strange 1 today.. been hearing it for a long while now 0270 DEA SIMPLEX 418.225000 AU CTCSS 123.0 it sounds if it even has a cortesy tone on it.

418.2250 is/was also an IRS allocation.
Do you have a IRS Processing Facility near-by ? Maybe used for Security?
Here in MA we have one using 411.5500 R D023 at the Processing Facility in No.Andover

That used to be frequency for Gadsden Field Office years ago, guess it still is.

Puzzleriddle, that used to be Gadsden Field Office main frequency several years ago. Evidently B'ham is using it also due to the strong signal I'm receiving in Homewood.

Here is two freqs. that are good for this area. Both are P25 167.7875 and 167.6125. You will hear ENC
and in the clear traffic.
