TG 4514 was active earlier this morning on Simulcast B and ID'd as "Ocean 3" by Glendale officers while radio maintenance was being conducted on Simulcast G. I've also heard TG 4501 active in the past on the landfill search.

Site Locations?

I can't hear them anymore and am finally thinking about trying a yagi. Any idea where a site or sites is for simulcast G so that I can point it correctly?

Thanks.

Search the FCC's ULS using 1 of the 4 control channels for G. 771.06875, 771.56875, 771.61875, 771.86875. Look under the location info for addresses or lat/long. I can't do it with my phone.

Another idea: set your "Multi-Site" to "Roam", the "Threshold Hi" to 99 and the "Threshold Lo" to 90-92. (Default is 95 and 75.) This *may* help your scanner lock on to only the closest transmitter.

Otherwise, try listening for them on Simulcast B and/or the White Tanks Intellirepeater. You may only be able to find channels 1 and 4 on those, however. I don't know about 10/12/13/14 which are also clear voice.

So there is just one site, about four blocks south of Peoria & Grand. Dumb question, but how is it "Simulcast G" if there is only one site? More sites to be added in the future maybe?

At any rate, I think this is within striking range from my home (4700 West Bell Road) with a yagi on the roof.

Anyway thanks for the advice.

4 blocks south of Peoria and Grand would be the City of Peoria municipal complex/public safety building, depending on the exact address. I would think there'd be more sites throughout the West Valley with 6 cities on it, however.

Glendale, Peoria, El Mirage, Surprise, Avondale and Buckeye aren't going to work on just that 1 low-level site near downtown Peoria.

Try either Glendale's Foothills public safety sub-station/fire station 155 at 63rd and Union Hills, or the Peoria sports complex at 83rd and Paradise Ln, south of Bell. Those would be 2 likely locations for a Simulcast G site.

I still haven't determined if A-11 or A-12 are clear or encrypted. I haven't heard any transmissions on either as of yet. A-1/4/10/13/14 are known clear. A-2/3/5/6/7/8/9/15/16 are known encrypted.

10, 11, 12, 13, and 14 are not encrypted

Thanks. I did hear 12 recently. 11 was the only other one that I haven't heard yet. Any idea about the "Ocean" deck, such as TG 4514, "Ocean 3", that I heard in the clear recently?

"Ocean" deck is Glendale's O-Deck on their portables. It's just another interop channel similar to G and H deck... O is just where it happens to lie in our radio template. It's been used at the landfill searches, like you've posted before. Helps with comms in far away places. Places too far for regular simulcast A,B or G.

So does 4516 = Ocean 1 and 4501 = Ocean 16? (Which would seem to coincide with 4514 = Ocean 3 and having heard 4501 in the past.) Are they all in the clear?

That would make sense, however I can't be for certain and I'm not sure if they are all encrypted or not. If you've heard some of the traffic, then they probably aren't.

Those are the only 2 that I've ever heard, so it's possible that they could be either all clear or a mix of clear and encrypted. Thanks :) I live in Peoria and work in Glendale so they're the 2 LEA's I monitor most.

No problem... I work for Glendale so I know most about the radio system, but not everything. If you pull up the online feed you could very well hear me every once in a while.

I can't do the feeds on my phone for some reason, but my PSR-500 works just fine to hear them :)

Would you know anything about TG's 4697 and 4695? I've only heard 4697 once, one of the sanitation guys was calling someone, got no reply, then switched to 4698, Sanitation 2. 4695 had traffic control during the Fiesta Bowl, but nothing since AFAIK.
