Yeah, I did end up finding the control channel when I drove up that way, though I would say, based on what I saw for signal levels from the 322 area, that those additional sites may not be up yet. I'll be heading over the Commodore Barry tomorrow night. I'll make sure I have the scanner along again.

I'm still hopeful that when everything is online I can get something on them down here. Anyone know if they are still shooting for the end of the year to be moved over, or has that timeline changed?

I noticed the license currently in the database has been terminated. It looks like due to the FCC not receiving notification that the construction was completed by the deadline.

I located two new licenses for this system, with many more sites listed. I have submitted this to be updated.
The new licenses are:
WQWB347
WQWB911

Receiving that freq as control channel tonight in eastern part of Delaware County on a M radio, programmed as receive only on a conventional channel. I have not had a chance to run it on cc decoding software yet.

The signal from the control channel has improved a lot since I rechecked it last week around this time. Before that it was very weak here. I'm monitoring from Logan Twp near Camping World with a one of those inexpensive dongles and a bad antenna inside a steel building using uni-trunker. I'm getting a full strength signal bar on uni-trunker.

I rechecked this evening, and the signal on the control channel has gone from nonexistent here to now bouncing around, averaging 1 bar on a BCD396XT, peaking at 2 bars. That's on my antenna 30' up with a preamp. On the RTL dongle, its rough, but there. Looks like I'll be building an antenna this weekend.

If you're in Carneys Point along the River and you're going Yagi, I would point it at the Commodore Barry Bridge area. The signal should be stronger coming in over the river.

I'm a bit further down in Pennsville. Probably a toss up between the Bridgeport and the Swedesboro sites. That Swedesboro site is right there with the massive TV tower between Woodstown and Harrisonville. If only they paid out enough to end up on top of the taller of the two towers there, I'd have no problems. Hey, I can dream.

So I'm noticing some odd behavior (at least it's odd to me) on the new system. First off I'm picking up constant traffic on 771.61875, a frequency licensed to Gloucester County on the new system. Even though there is what sounds like constant phase 2 P25 data on that frequency only, I don't see any talkgroup pop up with constant traffic. I know the system is programmed correctly because I'm catching other intermittent traffic on the new system during the daytime hours. Reception is good from my location in Berlin on 3 different scanners capable of decoding phase 2 p25. I have also location tested the frequency and reception of this traffic is strongest in areas where the new Gloucester County P25 system has sites listed. So what is the data?

I got news from a source that some Gloucester County PDs made the switch to the new 700 system including Washington Township, Deptford Twp, and Gloucester County Sheriff Office. I can confirm these agencies' analog channels are quiet today and that i have been hearing a lot of activity all morning on encrypted TGID 310.

Running Unitrunker for the last half hour has 5 active talk groups. 300, 305, 310, 405, 501. TG 310 has been active for a few weeks with testing I believe. I don't know for sure as I cannot hear anything, just watching with Unitrunker. Signal is excellent in Logan Twp but I cannot get any signal up in Medford. Add 410 to the list.

Wow thanks for the info no point in buying a scanner if you can't hear anything anymore... What a shame it all came down to encryption really liked listening to Gloucester Co and Camden Co.

Driving home today and now at home I'm hearing normal activity on all the Gloucester county conventional channels. I don't think there has been a transition to the new system yet.

To me this encryption means more areas that won't be getting my business. It may sound crazy but if we were able to amass a large protest against encryption it could change things but I digress.

Meanwhile those departments may just be simulcasting across the new system from the UHF channels. It is also possible they only switched over for testing purposes.

Got a chance to monitor the system a little bit this morning. Heard encrypted traffic on TG's 307 and 310 and possibly 210 (but I may have misread that as I saw Radio ID 210 on one of the TG's). Sounds like they may have moved Zones 5, 9 and maybe 8 over to the new system since there is only 1 department on each of those zones similar to how Voorhees PD was the first to move over to Camden County's P25 system. Zones 1-4 and 7 I can confirm are still active on UHF as is all the fire/EMS stuff. I was monitoring from across the Delaware River in Tinicum and had good signal and decode on my 668.

So all the PD traffic is encrypted it seems?

That's what it seems like. This system is being set up by the same vendor who did Camden County's system and I believe they're also doing Burlington, Ocean and Monmouth. I do remember a while back hearing police would be encrypted on the new system but everything else would be in the clear. Not sure what exactly they're trying to cover up.
