TG 56578

After logging 109 hits tonight on TG 56578 and hearing a couple of references to TAC-1 and the addresses used I think we submit this TG as CMHA TAC-1.

Do TAC channels usually run plates?
Dispatch for 56578 is 1036 which is CMHA Disp 1
Did you log a time of day when you heard them mention TAC 1?

Isn't 1036 just a console radio? No reason it couldn't be seen on more than one TG. And 56576 (according to the DB) is Disp 1, not 56578

You're not wrong. I saw 1036 (and later 1037) on 56578. But I think it is related to CHMA, because it's also near the rest of the CHMA TGs

Yes 1036 & 1037 are console id's used by the CMHA dispatchers. As Mike pointed out the dispatcher (who's on a console) can communicate on any TG assigned to it, just like any other radio. The CMHA radio's in the field have 1863xxx id's.

FYI: Per reports from user on this forum the CMHA Dispatch TG is 56576, CMHA Channel 2 is 56577, CMHA TAC 1 is 56578 and CMHA TAC 3 is 56580.

And given that info, I filled in CMHA Tac 2 (shhhhh, don't tell anyone)

TG56289 N Royalton FG-1?

Just a few minutes ago I monitored North Royalton Fire Station Alert dispatch an engine to a possible fire (on TG56421).

Right after the dispatch, on a new TG (56289) I heard a second North Royalton Fire engine call to the first dispatched engine asking if they needed additional support. TG56289 sits between Middleburg Hts. FG -1 (56288) and Olmstead Falls FG-1 (56290).

So my first guess would be that TG56289 is North Royalton FG-1.

TG56289 North Royalton FG-1 is already in the database. But Middlebugh Hts and Olmsted Falls info is not.

Do we have all the southwest suburbs Fire TGs identified, but just not confirmed ?
Where did 56288 and 56290 come from ?
Adding them to my HP 1 for confirmation .....

Well that's interesting.

I have just a couple of hits for both Middleburg Hts and Olmstead Falls FG-1 but this is the first for North Royalton FG-1.

I'm looking at my prior entries in WIN500 to see if I can find the date or dates I got the hits. May be I just happened to catch some radio setup testing.

Ok, I based on my WIN500 (past entries) I got the hits for Middleburg Hts and Olmstead Falls FG-1 in the last week (nothing in last Monday's file, hits show up in Saturdays).

More good(?) news, I show FG-2 hits (again just a couple) for Middleburg Hts. (56296) and Olmstead Fls (56298).

So following the pattern, I wonder if North Royalton FG-2 is 56297???

Well I don't... But I do have what could be a range of Fire related TG's, from 56283 to 56299.

56283 - 862 hits and no id, possible 1838xxx radio id
56284 - 18 hits, no id
56285 - 80 hits, no id
56286 - 0 hits
56287 - 14 hits, Brook Park FG -1 in the rr database
56288 - 2 hits, Middleburg Hts FG-1? unconfirmed radio tests/checks
56589 - 1 hit, North Royalton FG-1 in the rr database
56290 - 2 this, Olmstead Falls FG-1? unconfirmed radio tests/checks
56291 - 56295 - no hits
56296 - 2 hits, Middleburg Hts FG-2? unconfirmed radio tests/checks
56297 - 0 hits
56298 - 2 hits, Olmstead Falls FG-2? unconfirmed radio tests/checks
56299 - 1 hit, no id

May be others have info to help fill the blanks.

I'll try to jump in and help out a bit here.

I just updated my HP-1 and added GCRCN to my favorites lists. I didn't think I could pick up Cleveland from around Akron Fulton. I was wrong. Hope they don't turn down the output wattage.

I'll try to keep my radio in discovery mode when I'm not around.

Simulcast reception on GCRCN

I live in Cleveland (Westpark) and have a discone antenna mounted 30 feet above ground with good coax connected to two BC996T scanners via a Stridsberg multi-coupler. I found out after much experimenting that this antenna system may have actually hindered my ability to listen to GCRCN.

I noticed that I wasn't able to pick up ANY traffic depite full signal strength. I tried using the telescopic antenna plugged into the back of the radio that came with the scanner and found that it immediately solved the problem. I think I could be too close to the GCRCN tower sites, and my outdoor scanner antenna system was causing the scanner to become overloaded. The P25 audio and decode is very good too, hardly any garbled transmissions. I thought I might post this in case people in Cleveland or close to a tower site were having the same problem.

Two North Royalton Alpha Tags are reversed

I entered a Submission to the database to correct the following Alpha Tags.

TG56421 is North Royalton Fire Dispatch, the Alpha is showing as FG-1.

TG56289 is North Royalton Fire Ground 1, the Alpha is showing Dsp.

Note: The Description and Tag fields are correct.

Thanks, Bud. Corrected. I just noticed that you said you submitted this. Another admin will pick that up, but it is already worked.
